I played it a couple of years ago, and for some reason just stopped. So I pick it up again and find myself at the beginning of Mu. Annoying, but figure it out. I'm to weak to defeat the vampires and than remember about transforming into Freedan.
Problem is, I don't know how. When I'm at the Dark Space, his statue isn't there, just a statue of Will.
I've been searching around and I can't figure what to do, can anyone help me?

only certain dark spaces let you turn into freedan, I recall you had to change into him earlier in the level, the one where you save near the vampires won't let you turn into him (going off memory, here I recall having a simmilar issue because i saved there)

Yup, If I remember correctly even the players guide manual talks about fighting the vampires as Young Will but it's far easier if you head back to the Dark Space near the entrance and use Freedan.
Awesome game by the way, my all time favorite in fact.

What did you think of Soul Blazer and Terranigma?

What did you think of Soul Blazer and Terranigma?
I've played through about half of SoulBlazer and a quarter of Terranigma. So with that in mind I can say both are competent, well made games but story wise (at least to me) neither have anything on Illusion of Gaia. The characters, settings, story, moments - everything in Illusion of Gaia just "got" me when I first played it. It's been my favorite game ever since it was released and I don't see that changing - no matter how much I hate Mt. Kress.

Oh I wish I were a manly man like Freeeeeeedaaaaaan
Yes that is what I truly would like to beeee-eeee-eeeeeee
Cause if I was a manly man like Freeeedaaaaaan
Then everyone would bee in looooove with meeeeeeee
There's a song or background music somewhere in that game that spawned that song back in high school. I should revisit this before my therapist does.

You should play through Terranigma a bit more. As much as I love IoG, and agree that it has a great story, the middle-to-later parts of Terranigma blow it away.

Those 2 vamps are freaking hard!
Actually most all the bosses in the game are pretty hard, considering how easy most enemies are.

Your supposed to kill every enemy in every area to get your stats to go up , its not really that hard.

I really have nothing constructive to add to this conversation other than Illusion of Gaia might be the most under appreciated Action/Adventure RPG on the SNES.
