Howdy-

I'd like to get my Sega Genesis & Master System A/V modded for S-video output & stereo. As a bonus, it would also be nice to get the "speed up" mod on the Genesis that prevents slow-down during graphics-intensive gameplay.

Does anybody here perform such modding services or have such consoles for sale?

Thanks,
-Jason

His prices seem fair.

I have this available, if you were also looking to buy a model 1 CD unit as well:

as for the over clock mod, I personally stopped doing these a long time ago, I have found it to be a very unreliable mod, it also tends to screw up a lot of games and playability,

Looks like nice work--thanks for posting. Let me ask a few n00b questions.

1 - That looks like S-video & stereo out. What's the switch for? Is it the overclock mod, one that you performed previously?

2 - Does the 32X work w/ the Gen1?

3 - When playing Sega CD and/or 32X games, will the video be output as S-video, or does the video come out of the 32X when using the 32X, & therefore it won't be S-video?

4 - How does the overclock switch mess up games, when you can just switch it off & not use it?

5 - What's your price for the modded Gen1 & CD? Where do you live? I live at 91107.

Thanks,
-Jason

That's a JP/US switch.

1 - I did mod it for stereo (for some reason the original AV out was only mono), and the switch is JPN/domestic region mod. the region mod only works for cart games, how-ever you *could* copy your JPN games, apply a patch, then burn and play them.

2,3 - the 32X works just fine on a model 1, but you will not get s-video with this mod, you would need to hook it up *normally* to use a 32X.

4 - using the OC, you have to start the game, then pause the processor (with a switch) then another switch for for the OC, then unpause it. It seems not all the processors are created equal, some genesis's just don't like the OC. Anyhow, you will get random crashes, sound all messed up, etc.

5 - I live in Canada, which just means the package would get to you a little slower, sometimes up to 2 weeks (mainly do to Customs, nothing to do with yours or mine postal service) This would be a large package to ship, but I would only charge $20 for the shipping (if for some reason it actually costs lest, then I would refund the difference, that's how I roll......)

oh, and before you ask; you would have to do a lot of begging to get me to split this up, I have lots o' model 1 genesis's, but this is the last model 1 power plug I own :P (unless someone here just wanted to buy a model 1 SegaCD by itself).

Logicdustbin-

Thanks for answering all of my questions. Sounds attractive. What's your asking price for the Gen1 & its Sega CD, as pictured (plus the cables that go between the two)?

Looking for trades? I have tons (multi-tab Google Docs spreadsheet): https://spreadsheets.google.com/ccc?key=0As7-6oT7oyHudDRaSFdGTS1sb29JWk4zSGlQWk9CeGc&hl=en&authkey=COv7oLUO#gid=0

Thank you,

Thanks for the all the feedback & info. I ended up getting my SMS 1 & INTV 1 modded by a fellow who lives half an hour away. He did great work. Info here: http://www.digitpress.com/forum/showthread.php?t=151303

Also, it turns out that my Gen 2 isn't moddable, so I just bought a modded Gen 1 & Sega CD 1 set.

Anybody want to buy a Gen 2 + Sega CD 2, working & clean? =D

Thanks,
-Jason
