I'm not going to buy this Ebay auction but I've found one of these locally for $49.99 and know that they are quite rare! Is it worth the price?

I wouldn't pay more than $5 for it, mileage may vary.

Same here. $5.00 loose, $10.00 boxed is my limit for Pong variants.

Pong units. The creepy uncle of the pre-NES collecting scene.

This seems much more reasonable:

I would say $10 for loose, $20-$25 complete. They are fun to break out once a year and play, thats about it.

They are fun to put right next to a PS3 in your game room and have a 30 year gap between the date of manufacture.

And I guarantee the pong will out live the PS3 ;)
I have a CIB pre-NES Nintendo version of pong. Paid way more than $25 for it.

I was asking because I know it's pretty hard to find this particular model and that it isn't seen very often at all so it may be a nice rare item for my collection. I also know that some pongs are worth more than the $10 to $20 group that most fall into. Not sure if this one is worth the investment for rarity sake or not though.
