PilotWings and Super Street Fighter IV kiosk demos are in stores.

Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell 3D and Rabbids: Travel In Time 3D also dropped this week.

These are the first two games released since the system's release. The rest of the month looks dry but things look like they're going to start picking up in May.

Games added to the above post.

From what I am hearing, those two are the best examples of the 3D effect so far. Others do not do so well. Nintendogs+Cats would be a poor kiosk choice too, it's not 2-5min in-out friendly. Best foot forward and all.

I meant, I thought there were more demos than that. Before the 3DS launched, Nintendo set up little stations in several major cities to let people try it out. I went to it and there were like 8 games.

PapaStu
04-17-2011, 12:50 PM
Were those the full games, or were those timed demos? I've got a feeling that you were playing the full games on the tour and they were just the retail copies of the games.

What stores currently have in demo units are just Pilotwings and SSF IV.

@ Icarus
There was a DS demo for Nintendogs (actually 2, but one was an item swapper only). It gave you a dog to play with and some fast access to playing in the park and stuff. It got the point of the game across just fine.

Well, it would have to be a special demo-only type build... Thanks for the heads up. I been dying to see one of these things in action for a while.

Welcome to any complete run. There isn't a system that doesn't have shit games for it. This list is meant to be a tracking list for those who care to see what has been released. Just like the complete DS list. Contribute positively or get the fuck out of the thread.

Yup, I have a Street Fighter IV demo. :) It looks pretty much like a standard game except it has the usual NFR logo on the front and the usual barcode back sticker. The only other difference is that the Demo SFIV's product ID code begins with LNZ-CTR whereas retail 3DS games all seem to begin with LNA-CTR. I don't know if that will be true for all of the demos though.

Retrogamer72. Quite jealous about your ability to snag 3DS demo carts already. I think we need to talk to see if you've got any DS dupes that I don't have again.

Wish I had the money for a 3DS at all let alone all the games so far is it a good lineup? Early adopting is kinda problematic I plan to wait for more games/lower pricing etc

Mana from heaven!!!

Honestly, the closest system to having no crap on it is the NGPC IMO.

I've got something like a dozen 3DS games. I've really only put time into Street Fighter IV and the Mini game stuff built into the 3DS. It's good. I've done some demo time w/ Lego SW (which I won't own on the system, but own all of the console releases) and Pilot Wings. I've liked them both.

Excellent, nice list you've compiled there PapaStu, I only got my 3DS a couple of weeks ago and I've been contemplating trying for a complete collection, as it's something I've never tried and I've always been a big fan of handheld systems, so this list should aid me in trying to get caught up.

PapaStu
09-08-2011, 11:50 PM
A complete collection of a new system is a bit of a silly task. You're going to be spending full boar on the games and if this system is anything like the DS or GBA, you're going to be looking at a SHITLOAD of games when it's all said and done. The DS US library alone is well over 1500 titles . Are you ready for even half that for the 3DS?

Any system is cute to own all the games for when there are 37. You're mind will change when you're at a few hundred games with 20% being Bratz/Petz/Imagine series games.

Nionel
09-11-2011, 04:25 PM
Yeah, that is a good point and certainly something I've thought about. I figured that even if i were to go for a full collection, I wouldn't even bother what a lot of games until they were easily available at a more reasonable price (ie waiting a year or two until they are cheap used or found on clearance). So far I only own five titles, so I'm a long way off, but I've enjoyed what I've played on the system so far, and that's what's really important to me right now.

A few fresh games to add to the list

Star Fox 64 3D
Bit.Trip Saga
Deca Sports Extreme

Puzzle Mind Gym 3D
Balloon Pop 2 (out, amazon show shipping, not yet seen in stores)

Another month another batch of fresh games added

Marvel Super Squad: The Infinity Gauntlet
Wipeout 2
Majhong Cub3D
Gabrielle's Ghostly Groove
Spiderman: Edge Of Time
Tetris Axis
FIFA 12
Brunswick Pro Bowling 3DS
Pinball Hall Of Fame: Williams Collection
Frogger 3D

I've seen everything in a store (be it GS, Target, BestBuy) save Mahjong Cub3D, and FIFA 12.

Balloon Pop 2 still shows as released by Amazon, but with a delayed shipping window. My copy is supposed to ship by end of month, but GameStop has pushed it back to Feb 2012, so i'm not sure what to say.

Spyro was supposed to release today, but I didn't see it on a shelf, but i'm sure it's out there. That's going to be one expensive game once you start getting all those extra figures.

Ben 10: Galactic Racing
Centipede: Infestation
Captain America: Super Soldier

Also found StarFox 64 in kiosks.

I've been adding stuff to a list as i've been seeing it in stores/online. I'm double checking your list DOAsaturn and am adding what I know is out and available that you kindly put into a list. Sum total was about 30 games I didn't have. Thanks very much!

Stuff i've not been able to verify that was on your list (and not on the one I already had up)

Dreamworks Super Star Kartz (Amazon lists it, but clicking on it takes to a DS page)

Nano Assault. It has a December 6 release.

There is only one 'LE' of sorts, and thats Frogger, but all copies of Frogger are currently packaged in the big box with 3DS cover.

Actually, I have seen small stacks of copies of Frogger without the big box at both Toys R Us and Best Buy, so the boxless version is definitely starting to show up at retail.

I'm almost completely sure Dreamworks Super Star Kartz exists for 3DS...it's in stock on most every major retailing site, though Amazon's checkout is screwed up and I would not recommend buying from them - you might get the DS copy. Bestbuy.com looks legit, among a few others (though I ran into the DS problem on another site as well). I might have to just see if I can find this one in the wild to confirm. It's actually a game I want to have as I did enjoy the original Madagascar Kartz release.

Looks like Nano Assault is now shipping from Amazon. F1 2011 is as well. One to watch for is Oregon Trail, which has a suspect Friday ship day (I never trust those).

I've seen Dreamworks Super Star Kartz in a GameStop and Target since my initial post regarding it. It is out there. The whole thing is just goofed up on Amazon.

I'm not surprised that Frogger is shipping now sans 'bonus', i've just not seen any that way... yet.

I tend to be a bit suspect of Amazon sale dates on some stuff, just cause they may say it's available and then go backorder/OOS. They did that with Baloon Pop 2, which i've had pre-ordered since August. If it's findable in stores we're good to go, or real pics on a place like eBay. I'm sure Nano Assault is working it's way into stores though, it did 'release' yesterday.

Yep, and my Nano Assault/Face Racers order has officially been listed as shipped on Amazon. I'll wait on F1 until that goes on sale. I agree about goofy placeholder dates with them, as Oregon Trail doesn't even have a release now on Amazon (but Gamestop lists it as Dec. 9 along with the Wii game). I'm just going to wait until the weekend on that one. Doctor Lautrec (next week) looks like it might be the last release of the year.

Also add Jaws: Ultimate Predator and The Adventures of Tintin: The Game - those just got released as well and are shipping.

I'm not quite up there yet, got 18 games - will be past 20+ after xmas, but sniping some of the launch stuff now that prices have come down. $9-15 is a lot easier to swallow and pick up a few at a time than $30-40 per. Some of the lesser regarded games I definitely wait for some nice price drops or used...I don't usually start collecting for a new system until 6-8 months after launch, so I'll have to catch up for a bit.

Best Buy has been amazing for launch titles recently. All of the Nintendogs and Madden were $8 each with free shipping. Amazon has had some deals as well with many launch titles for $10-$15 since Black Friday.

To (likely) end 2011, I can confirm the following titles:

The Oregon Trail (shipping now on Amazon)
Doctor Lautrec and the Forgotten Knights (confirmed in-store at Gamestop)
Mario Kart 7 (haha, missed this one on the list somehow)
F1 2011 (saw at best buy)

By my count that ends the 3DS launch year with 91 titles

By the way, those looking to pick up the very recently released WWE All-Stars and F1 2011 on the cheap, Best Buy has them on sale through Saturday for $19.99 apiece, both are $39.99 MSRP.

Bumping this up for the holidays.

I think I'm done with my pre-Christmas sale haul...I've bought so much for the 3DS between $7-19 dollars apiece in the past few weeks. It's amazing how many games have been slashed, crappy or not. Even a good new title like Nano Assault dropped $10 to $19.99 a week after release. I hope this trend continues into the new year (unless it's a sign of bad things..., then I guess I don't). Now has been the best time to catch up.

I'll probably nab a 3DS game or two under the tree this year, but we'll see. I'm hovering around 30% of the North American releases now...

Hope everyone had a great holiday! Gaming wise I've gotten my 3DS collection up to 37 retail games (of the 92). I definitely took advantage of Best Buy's deal of the day...grabbed Pilotwings, Madden and a few others for $5 each.

Just a note for early "rare" speculators. Happy Feet Two isn't even sold in Gamestop stores (unless it's used or through their website) and seems to be a hard find in most places. While it doesn't meet any real criteria for being "rare", it has some potential red flags...

I have to disagree with you there. It's pretty widely available at Best Buy, Toys R Us and Target among other b&m retailers and it's not exactly a great game, so I wouldn't go hoarding up copies in the hope that it will be rare.

I just was in a GS tonight. I saw Happy Feet 2 3DS on the shelf.

Main list updated with the games from earlier last month.

Frogger 3D big box has become hard to find, which is funny considering how all over the place it was before. Also, WWE AllStars w/ lenticular cover looks to have been a first run only and all the copies i'm seeing now are sans special cover. Keep an eye out for that too.

Maybe I jumped to conclusions. I have never consciously seen the game at any store - but then again I hadn't been really looking. What surprised me is that on Gamestop's site the price got slashed, you can't even check for availability by new copies (only used). Only 3DS game with that issue on their website. I'll keep my eye on it if I head out to a few stores this weekend.

I personally don't have copies of either - and missed out on WWE All Stars for $19.99 at Best Buy awhile back.

As far as lenticular covers/slipboxes goes, I'm guessing this is a complete list:

Cave Story 3D
Jaws Ultimate Predator
Pro Evolution Soccer 2011 3D
Super Street Fighter IV: 3D Edition
WWE All Stars

OK, looks like the only release for January looks to be My Pet Puppy 3D. Pretty weak, yeah. I'll keep tabs to see if it gets released in the next couple days.

Thinking of getting Gabrielle's Ghostly Groove before it becomes too difficult to find. Most Gamestops still stock it (not online though), but it's nowhere near as populated as other 3DS games. Shame I should have ordered it from Natsume direct when they offered the figure with it.

Also going to look for the Frogger big box this week - methinks Gamestop or Best Buy should still have it.

Looking for a few that "might" be out there

Balloon Pop 2 (someone on ebay selling new copies for $95...no photo proof that they actually have it though)
My Pet Puppy 3D (supposedly released today)
Outdoors Unleashed: Alaska (likely not out, but some seller on Amazon claims to have it in stock)
Outdoors Unleashed: Africa (same as above, except not listing in stock)

Correct, however both Street Fighter and Cave Story are on sleeves, while Jaws, Pro Evo and WWE are lenticuar 'covers' under the shrink wrap. ALL Pro Evo's originally came with them, I'm not sure about Jaws as i've only seen a few copies right when it came out and WWE was a first run only thing.

Adding Resident Evil: Revelations to the list and My Puppy 3D to the list on page 1.

All copies of RE so far have the misspelled spine.

A few titles are supposed to be hitting this week. I'll be verifying in the next few days, though I'm sure Tales of the Abyss, Tekken 3D Prime Edition and Mario & Sonic at London Olympics are all hitting stores now.

Balloon Pop 2 has been pushed back again. Last check it went from releasing around this time, to a 12/31/12 date on GameStop/Amazon. No clue when it's actually hitting.

We might have our hands on our first true "limited" releease as Crush3D has now been released only as a Gamestop exclusive. I chatted with a manager when I bought a copy earlier this week and he expected this would be his only shipment of the game. It's hard to say how many there actually are though - as I'm guessing the number is in the 20,000-25,000 range (if each Gamestop/EB store got an average of 2-3 copies). Still, bodes well for this game holding some sort of extra value in the long term.

Let's Ride! Best in Breed 3D
Paws & Claws Pampered Pets Resort 3D

At least Kid Icarus is due this Friday

When I saw that it became a GS exclusive I thought 'oh goody', just order it online. Last time I tried to do that a week after release, I couldn't buy it online as it wasn't 'In Stock', but I could do a in store pickup at any of my local stores. All of which had more than 3 copies save one that only had 'a' copy. I"m all caught up on titles I 'need' (and north of 50 3DS games) save Mario Sonic at the Olympics and Decca Sports. Just don't want to spend that much on a mediocre sports game.

I'm up to 56 titles now. I recently grabbed LEGO Pirates off ebay for $7 + free ship. Can't pass full retail for DLC prices. I sill need some Nintendo staples like SM3DL, Zelda and Star Fox. I made sure to grab Tales of the Abyss - that definitely got a short print. I try to grab the cheaps and rares as I go and come back to all the other stuff later. If I had to make a "Top 10" for early 3DS "rare prospects" it might look like the following (no particular order) and I could only come up with nine if you want to cover all your bases...

Tales of the Abyss
Shin Megami Tensei Devil Survivor Overclocked
Gabrielle's Ghostly Groove
Jaws Ultimate Predator (Lenticular Cover)
SSFIV (Lenticular Cover)
WWE All-Stars (Lenticular Cover)
Resident Evil Revelaitons misprint
Crush3D
Frogger 3D (Big Box)

Some aren't really hard to find. Crush3D can now be ordered at Gamestop. The SSFIV Lenticular cover has been phased out but can generally still be found. Jaws: UP seems to be the toughest of the Lenticular covers. The Frogger box can still be found, but go to Gamestop for it if you want it minty fresh...Best Buy likes to crush those boxes in that security rope they use. In the coming years you might see something like Super Star Kartz be a tad obscure - that had a quirky under-the-radar release where most retailers either only got the DS version or the confused it for the DS version.

I dunno if anything else can even be considered relatively scarce. My Pet Puppy 3D was released in the dead of January to absolutely no fanfare. It looks somewhat tricky to find but I doubt anyone is really looking for it. It's at most Gamestops and they prob have a copy or two. I just can't get myself to waste $ on those kiddie pet games right now...

Probably just a local thing. It's a somewhat desirable game, but not rare. I know Amazon had it as their DOTD Game for $14.99 just a couple days back... I wish I had jumped on it then but I had just spent $120 on 3DS games, so it's one I'm missing still

I had a problem finding Sonic Generations right after release. I could find it in a few stores, but it was sold out at GameStop, Amazon and the like. I ended up snagging one from Target when I finally saw them a few weeks later. I see them around now, but not en mass.

Got em all. I've noticed that WWE All Stars and Jaws lenticulars were both gone quickly and I had to get WWE off eBay (but was able to get it quite a bit cheaper than retail for some reason). SSF IV is all over and i've not seen one w/o the sleeve yet. Frogger still seems to be in GameStops, but not other places. The RE misprint was also all over at first, but now i'm starting to see only the new spine. I still need a corrected one, but have no desire to spend 40 bucks for an insert right now.

What bugs me about WWE All Stars is that it's a loose card and the sealed copy I got at Best Buy was shrinkwrapped - otherwise (even though I open almost all my games) I may have kept it sealed. For now only TotA, Frogger Box, Crush3D and RE misprint are sealed for me. I have still seen the WWE lenticular around - but not Jaws. As for SSFIV, I have seen some without the sleeves (at least at Best Buy) - so I know those exist. I don't think the slipcase version will ever really be rare, but I'm guessing production stopped on those if there are some without them...

I actually was late to the RE misprint party. I went into Best Buy earlier this week to see if I could get one. No copies of RE anywhere. Then one without any security box on it was lying on at a employee computer terminal. Sure enough, it was a misprint. My guess is it was either returned or an employee wanted it for themselves. Either way, it's in my hands now, beats paying too much for it online. Though somehow I don't think this version will be all that sought after later with so many people keeping it sealed. I did request a replacement cover from Capcom just to have one - I've actually heard it's different from a couple people (Resident Evil Revel. on the spine rather than Revelations) than the one that is in stores now, but I'll need to see it to believe it.

That Resident Evil Revel. can be seen on Capcom Unity's blog. No clue if thats what's being sent out, because it looks about 20 times worse than the corrected spine.

Me, pics on the way

Have you purchased them all so far because you really wanted to play all of the games so far or is it an obsessive compulsion thing?

In the beginning I remember people collecting full libraries because they were nostalgic and loved a certain console. But to want to have every title that's released on a current console...

At what point does it become an unhealthy obsession?

It's probably unhealthy...I won't deny that...but to each their own. I am collecting a lot for the 3DS but not every single game, for my "full library" fix I just track each release for my website.

Anyway guys, added Horses 3D to the list up top. Here's a short list of titles that "may" be out in the wild somewhere as well...

50 Classic Games 3D (Amazon ship date today, still not in stock)
Boulder Dash XL 3D
Mahjong: Warriors of the Empire 3D

The last two games are probably not out. Overstock.com is the only place I've found that lists them as available so I decided to put an order in and just see if they actually ship these...
