Curious to know what a used Famicom disk system is worth, minus the RAM cart? Found one at a local thrift, they wanted $10 without the RAM cart. Are the RAM cart's easy and cheap enough to find on their own to make a $10 investment worth while?

Thanks.

$10 is a good price for the FDS by itself.

However, if it hasn't been worked on in the past decade, the system likely doesn't work. Typically they need belt replacement and other minor adjustments. And, of course there's a strong possibility that it won't work at all no matter what you do with it.

Still, it could even be be good for parts at that price.

And finding a ram adapter by itself will be the real trick. I don't think I've ever seen one separated/sold by itself. Certainly possible, but infrequent to say the least.

I've seen RAM adapters by themselves on Ebay. In fact, I see those more than Disk Systems by themselves.

That's for sure, first one I have ever seen in the wild. I think I might pick this one up just for that fact alone.

Thanks for all the insight.

Well, there you go then.

I'd say go for it.
