Unless they retexture the game or something it's a waste of time. Anyone with a decent gaming rig can emulate the game much better than what the 360 & ps3 can display these days anyway.

What makes you think it isn't going to get a HD makeover such as things like Beyond Good & Evil? Even the article talks like it's going to be redone with HD textures.

RE4 is a good game, but I prefer almost every Resident Evil title over it. I even enjoy RE5 better, but that's only because of the multiplayer.
I'd really like to have a Resident Evil Outbreak HD Collection. Outbreak was my second favorite game in the series, even with the horrible load times, and it'd be nice to see a rerelease of Outbreak 1 and 2 without the load times. Not only that but we'd get the online back.
This generation is starting to look a like like last generation and that's not a good thing. I honestly don't see the need for all these HDmakes of games that are barely even considered old. And really..RE4? How about re-making Resident Evil 2 and 3....or better yet making completely new games?
I remember people screaming shenanigans back when the GOW collection was released and others were announced soon after. They said things like the developers are just being lazy and just want an excuses to double (or in some cases tipple) dip and everyone thought they were crazy, well now I see exactly what they were talking about.

I have the Gamecube game, Gamecube demo, Japanese Gamecube demo, PS2 game and PS2 demo and yet I have still to this day never played this game. But with achievements and added gamerscore I'll definitely be playing this version.

I'm not sure how you're coming to that conclusion from that link. If this looks even close to the PC mods out there...I'll be happy.

Yes, still interested.
Especially since the PS2 version doesn't look very good on 720/1080 setups, plus trophies/achievements.
Also, if you've only ever had a Microsoft console it'll be nice to play through what many consider to the best in the series.

I'm down with sequels and spin-offs, I just don't know why RE4 needs another port. This is the third one! But hey, as long as they're still pumping out other stuff too, why not?

Great news. Resident Evil: Code Veronica is by far the most Cohesive and best game in the series. From beginning to end it progresses and tells the story through great narration and visual style, no excessive backtracking nonsense, just a great seamless experience from beginning to end. Those who have never played it are in for a treat.
Resident Evil 4 "is fun", much like Resident Evil 5 "which imo is better", but those games have taken the series in a less serious direction and become more arcadey and action oriented. I would love if they went back to the style prior to RE4.
Code Veronica set the standard for the series imo, why Capcom decided to quit taking it in this artistic direction is beyond me.

I'll get RE4 for sure but does anyone know if Code Veronica will have an updated control scheme similar to RE4?
I tried playing CV on Gamecube a few months ago and the controls are damn near unplayable now.

FYI: Resident Evil 4 HD is out on XBLA today for 1600 ms points. I've been so focused on Gears of War 3, I forgot this was coming out. Kind of poor timing on Capcom's part.

Snagged it on PSN Plus today for 10 bucks with PS1 RE Directors Cut, RE2 and RE3 (and a bunch of RE4 PSN ID avatars) all for free as chasers!
RE4 looks really nice in its up-converted state and still plays as fun as it ever did. It seems to only run in anamorphic(?) widescreen mode (full screen, not stretched, no black bars) so this isn't a straight port of the PS2 game which had both full screen & widescreen as visual options (as well as some filters which aren't really needed with the high resolution presentation of this version).
Great stuff, totally worth another playthrough, hope I can find the time to do so.

Otherwise: Downloaded it on XBLA yesterday. Ended up playing for an hour. I barely had time to play GoW3. Looks fantastic, but then again I've been playing it looking this good (with a 360 controller as well) for years. Might as well start my 24th (or 25th...I've lost count) playthrough. It's a mental illness.

That was my sentiment after playing halfway through it with a Wiimote and nunchuck setup.
I know people seemed to think it was a great fit, but I just couldn't get into it.
Dualshocks are practically an extension of my person at this point, so I prefer them to just about any other control option on most games.

God damn, every time I play RE4 I'm reminded of how pitch-perfect it is ... there is not a single moment of that game that I don't enjoy.
Easily my favorite game of the decade and probably the most fun I had with an action game of that style, ever.

Totally agree. I've sunk about 7 hours into the HD version so far this week. Compare that with Gears of War 3...which I've played about 3 hours in Beast/Horde modes. I haven't even started the single player of GoW3 yet. This is a testament to how perfect RE4 is. Love going through with no super-weapons. It's been a while since I've played an "every bullet counts" playthrough. So much fun.
