No mention of Crystal Castles or the classic Blue Max? Or Safecracker (Intellivision). Or Desert Falcon.
Other than that a good read.

That's last month's issue. Yeah it was pretty good.

Issue 87 is GREAT. It's got n64 on the cover, a feature on Duke Nukem 3D and an interview with Al Lowe. Best issue I've seen in a while.

They were doing more of a home computer software sort of retrospective with the isometric gameplay story. The Sinclair Spectrum had a load of isometric games for it.

Quick question, I've been calling around to a couple B&N stores around me looking for the N64 feature (#87) and they all still seem to have #86 in stock (as of last week). Are they usually like a month/few weeks behind because it's international??

Last week I stopped in a Books-A-Million and saw that they were still had issue 85 on the shelves. I guess it depends on how much the retailer sucks.

I have a hard time with finding Retro Gamer issues. It seems that locations won't carry it from one month to the next, so I have to check out a few stores before I'll find a copy.

Just get a subscription. It's cheaper and faster.

That's typically how lower performing magazines are stocked. They will dedicate a certain amount of space to lower performing magazines and cycle them out from month to month to gather the most exposure for each of them since they're not strong enough to dedicate shelf space at a location to regularly carry them every month.

Subscription is the way to go here. Mine always arrives 4-6 wks ahead of US stores & always nicely wrapped/packaged, NEVER damaged. In fact, there's a number to call on the wrapping if it ever DID arrived damaged.

Yes, B&N, Borders and Fry's will stock a month behind. I never have a problem finding an issue though and I like to chip in the few extra bucks to keep the local stores able to employee people.
