Kid Icarus may have a sequel, just look in May 2001 issue of Nintendo Power. If it's mentioned there it's probably planned somewhere.
And for a sequel I wanted: Adventure!

Doesn't the fact that you call it a "series" mean that there already have been sequels?
And with the lack of creativity in gaming today its REALLY hard to think of a good game that isnt a sequel or hasn't already had, or announced a sequel yet.

I think a sequal to final fantasy would be sweet..
Just one question: how could it be "Final" Fantasy if there's been at least 10 games in the main series and another 10 or so spinoffs??? Shouldn't it be called Neverending Fantasy??

There is a sequel on the NES, The Mafat Conspiracy. It was even released in the United States.
And why doesn't DOTT count? That was an awesome sequel.
i'd like to see another maniac mansion, sam and max, monkey island, or grim fandango. im almost posative of another monkey island.
Maniac Mansion has a sequel, Lucasarts no longer has rights to Sam and Max, Monkey Island has three sequels (though parts 3 and 4 are terrible), and Grim Fandango? It's my favorite video game of all time, by far, but I don't want a sequel. There's no need for one. It was a brilliant, self-contained story. And besides, Tim Schafer is no longer at Lucasarts. I don't want anyone else touching Grim Fandango, just like I don't appreciate people who aren't Ron Gilbert doing Monkey Island games.

BANDIT KINGS OF ANCIENT CHINA by KOEI
While I think there may have been one in the Japanese or Asian market, there wasn't anything for the US (probably because the original did not sell well here).
For #2, I would have.....
(1) Lifted the time restraints on the game
(2) Made gaining Experience Points a little easier
(3) Had the Northern Barbarians invade in 1127 (so if you did save the Song Empire, you would have to beat back the Barbarians)
(4) Some other minor twitches to improve game play

I would be in heaven if someone finished off the Alternate Reality Series. Alternate Reality: the Dungeon was easily one of my favorite RPGs of all time, too bad the series died. :-(
Some good suggestions so far: Splatterhouse and M.U.L.E.
I'm always up for a Castlevania on any system!
I am also desperately waiting for something from Capcom for Streetfighter or the Vampire series...
Why did they do a new version of Rygar?!? It wasn't exactly my favorite title, and in no need of updating.

Zillion and Zillion 2 needs a sequel, so badly. Those games are some of the sweetest of the old Sega games, and of all the multitudes of games that they are bringing back, the Zillion characters get the shaft. I could completely see them in a Metroid Prime-type game.

Well, despite how some people are answering I took the question as, Pick a game wiht NO sequels, and wish there was a sequal, not just ANOTHER sequel in the series... or least a series that long dead like say Double Dragon. Cause think about it. all you people that are wishin for a FF sequel... are gonna get it.
So I'd have to say a sequal to GOLVELLIUS: VALLEY OF DOOM.
from what I know, that was originally a game on the MSX (?) which I don't even know what the MSX is... or was rather... or if there was such a game on it.
Were there ANY other versions of Golvellius? And not necessarily Sequels just ports on other platforms?

-A modern day killer instinct
-Conker's bad fur day (probably within the next year)
-A modern day Ninja Turtles game. :D
There are also a lot of awesome SNES games that i think should be ported to GBA, so the world can enjoy them again. Games like Wild Guns, ninja turtle: turtles in time, Metal Warriors, and rock and roll racing.

A new Smurfs game taking place in a 3D universe (a la Super Mario 64, Banjo Kazooie, et al.), where you must rescue all 100 Smurfs held hostage in various places like Gargamel's castle, Pussywillow Hollow, et al., and where certain Smurfs you rescue can aid you by being playable characters or unlocking certain areas that you can't normally get to with your default character.

Tetsu - Splatterhouse: Wanpaku Grafitti didn't come out for the FDS, just the Famicom. I have it and I love it!
Alex Kidd - Golvellius 2 was released for the MSX 2 but never ported to anything else like the first game was. I always wanted to see it, considering the ending of the original set up the plot for the sequel...
Anyway, I'd love to see a Splatterhouse sequel (maybe next year, if the rumors floating around are true) and a GOOD sequel to Actraiser. I'm sorry, but Actraiser 2 just didn't cut it. A Panic! sequel would be interesting, to say the least...

The second title in the Dragon Slayer series, the original Xanadu was released for a number of popular Japanese computers like the PC-8801 and the MSX2, as was its sequel Xanadu Scenario II.
In addition to a pair of Revival Xanadu releases for the PC-9801, we can't forget the two Legend of Xanadu spin-offs for the PC Engine (TurboGrafx 16) Super CD-ROM.
Incidentally, the fourth Dragon Slayer was ported to the Famicom and did make it to America. Legacy of the Wizard.

Here's the deal with that.
SotN, despite selling so well, is apparently seen by Konami brass as a product that they could lose money on. The guy who currently makes all the CV games--Igarashi, but everybody calls him just Iga--has been with the series in one way or another since at least Dracula X Rondo of Blood (from 1993).
He was behind SotN, and one of his latest moves has been to throw Castlevania Legends out of the series--disown it, and anything with the KCEK logo on it. For example, he ridiculed the GBA title Circle of the Moon for its DSS card system, and then he comes up with the "Gotta SoulSteal 'em All" system for Aria...
It's obvious that he puts a lot of thought and effort into the series, but he's limited as to what sort of titles he can develop. More likely than a SotN sequel, then, would be the following games:
Castlevania Chronicles 2: This would likely have Rondo of Blood in original form as well as an "Arrange" mode (just as Castlevania Chronicles does).
"The 1999 battle:" I've heard that he might consider making a game which revolves around the events in 1999 when Dracula was sealed away "for good," which any good AoS player knows to be untrue.
Hope that helps a bit (not terribly well organized though ;D)

I would like to find out what the hell happened to Meyl after MGS, and perhaps a game that follows what after the Shadow Moses incident. Call it "MGS: Philanthropy" or "The Philanthropy Missions". Featuring several interesting and distinct locales across the globe, become Solid Snake as you track down and destroy various Metal Gears. Introduce some new characters, and have another "genetic connection" perhaps (How about a naturally-born son of Big Boss?).

No...
Duke Nukem and Quake were developed by Apogee Software and iD Software, respectively. I'm not 100% on my id/Apogee history, so I can't say if these separate software houses had split up when this was released, but I'm guessing they already had.
No, (I am working from memory here, but it's a solid memory) Quake, as described at the end of Keen (IV, I think) was some sort of big, bad fellow who started out supercharged (rather unlike the final form of your character) with magical artifacts...Hammer of Thor was one, I believe. They changed the others around a bit for the real Quake, but I have the feeling they mentioned a Ring of Regeneration and an Amulet of Shadows (somewhat different from the final product again, of course).
I can't comment on whether it was seen in the manual (my guess is no, not likely) but it was certainly seen at the end of one of the Keen games.
I tried to rediscover the website that lists this (along with some other interesting DOOM related alphas/betas and the interesting OS/2 wallpaper that the mountain background in DOOM was taken from) was on, but wasn't able to discover it. I do hope it hasn't been taken down after all these years... :/
