View Full Version : Question for KV-FS27*** Owners (SD Trinitrons)

On my Trinitron I've noticed something subtle. I first noticed it in text in an rpg... but the closer to the edge on either side you get the blacks seem to be slightly lighter in color. The geometry bends a bit at both edges as well again very subtly.

The brightness itself looks the same, it's just that everything looks clearer and the blacks are darker the closer you get to the center of the TV.

Is this par for the course for this model, or does it mean my TV is dying on me?

Thanks.

Sounds perfectly normal. All cathode rays do this to some extent.

Good to hear. From what I've read this is really mostly a flat screen phenomenon?

All tubes do this, although flat screens are more prone. However, the deficiencies are no more apparent on a flat screen if it is well made. Unless there is a big difference from the edges to the center you have nothing to be concerned about.

Nope nothing huge, just the color on the black is a tiny bit lighter and a tiny bit less sharp. As I said it's subtle and took a couple days of playing to even notice so everything should be good then. :bday:
