I scored my first prototype for my video game collection!! I am really excited to finally own a real one! Me and my friend Zach Mestion both agreed that Muncher was not really a proto, so I went ahead and got a test program labeled "solar" written on the top left hand side. Does anyone have any idea how many of these carts were initially made(approx how many protos of "solar conquest" were made?????? :D

Do you mean "Solar Conqueror"?
I don't know how many there are - and that's something I doubt ANYONE can answer, but I can tell you that I had one not too long ago, traded it to our forum member Y-Bot in part of an exchange for Super NES StarFox Competition Weekend.
I've got a few other Astrocade prototypes, not sure which ones are worth more than others. Owning ANY Astrocade proto is very cool though. Congrats on your acquisition!

How hard is it to find a BALLY VIDEOCADE game? I got one this morning called Astro Battle 2009, this is the first one that I have found for the system. Before this, I've not even heard of this system. Any info on it?

Anyone here have Conan? I know it was released and sold in the Bally Astrocade newsletters.

I think almost any cart that was sold through Astrocade newsletters is still available from Mike White for $10-$15.

Who is Mike White?

Mike White made (and still makes) Astrocade cartridges. He can make BASIC games into cartridges and he has all the weird unfinished stuff & hacks like Conan, Bowling, Muncher, etc. He is a little hard to get ahold of though. He has no website or email. If you join the Astrocade discussion group or go to www.ballyalley.com they may be able to put you in touch with him. I think his price list from 1987/1988 is on the Bally Alley website and the prices are still current. I just bought 5 original cassette programs from him and he fixed a No-Die cartridge that I had.
