I always like to have my handhelds in a case. After dropping $250 on a system, I want to keep it safe. I tried finding a local case when I got the 3DS but didn't find any I liked.

I ordered one from Amazon along with some screen protectors and it arrived today. It's a simple clear case, my favorite type. It's a type of case that you put the 3ds in the case and keep it there forever. You don't take it out to play.

The problem is that now it doesn't fit in the charging station.

Does anyone know of a case for 3DS that allows you to still use the charging station. I'd really prefer not to have to take it out of the case in order to sit it in the charging station. For now I'm just going to plug the AC adapter directly into the 3DS.

Wow the 3DS is Classic Gaming? :) Right now there isn't a case that will let the 3DS sit in the charger properly.

I don't think that there are any cases that will allow the 3DS to sit in the included cradle and since that's such a snug fit I wouldn't expect there to ever be one.

Best we can hope for is a company creating their own cradle/case ... maybe one of those induction charging mat type ones since the 3DS gives easy access to those charging pins.

If that case has a hole for the charger to plug into, you don't need to use the charging cradle.

It does have a hole for the charger, it's just nice being able to just drop it into the charger.

It is kind of nice, but I thought it was weird of Nintendo to even include what turned out to be a pretty much useless cradle. I was under the impression that it was required for charging when I first saw it. On a sidenote, Nyko has made a replacement battery that has more life but its bigger than the original one, take a look: http://arstechnica.com/gaming/news/2011/03/heavy-black-rubber-testing-nykos-third-party-3ds-battery.ars

Well, it's not useless if you don't put a case on your 3DS, it's actually pretty convenient to keep on a desk or area where you keep your 3DS.

Easier to just drop the 3DS onto it for charging and pick it up when you need it than having to insert/remove a plug for charging.

And, like I said, since Nintendo put access to the charging strips on the 3DS a company could always make a cradle and case that does marry up. I'm sure somebody will make something. DS accessories are always plentiful.

That nyko battery is ugly as sin. I can't wait to see the improved versions as time goes by.
