I have an older model, un-modified USA SNES. I was curious if even the original Pro Action Replay (MK1 is it called??) will run my games properly in NTSC mode and not mess with the framerate. Or for that matter, run the games at all. I am not trying to run anything out of the ordinary like Terranigma, just the classics Super Mario World, Mario RPG, Kirby Super Star and Dream Land 3, Donkey Kong Country series... I do not own Starfox. Is that a special case like Terranigma?

I am also curious if the original Mk1 version has the ability to enable and disable codes while you are playing the game, without having to turn the game off to change the codes, or if this is a physical switch feature in the later versions of the device.

Lastly, does anyone recommend somewhere to buy the cheapest version of PAR? I saw a Mk1 on Ebay for 18 pounds but it's sold now. But yes I just want to have fun with older games, not trying to run Terranigma, so a 30 US dollar price range should be possible? Thanks in advance!

Btw sorry if this is the wrong section to post this.

Yep, the games will run fine. FX games will not work due to the PAR not having the extra pin connectors.

All version of the AR/PAR have a switch like a Game Genie to turn codes off or on. A regular Action Replay is the same as a PAR, only without the code finder. For versions of the PAR 2 and above, more than 5 codes can be entered at a time.

I've heard the Game Wizard by Innovation is just an Action Replay under a different name, possibly unlicensed by Datel. There was a US based seller on Ebay selling these new not too long ago around $40 US.

Super Mario RPG, Kirby's Super Star and Kirby's Dream Land 3 use the SA-1 chip, so if the adapter doesn't have enough pins (and isn't able to fake the additional NTSC/PAL check), then it won't work.

Oh darn... So how do you know which versions work with Kirby and Mario RPG? Mk2 or Mk3?

I have a MK2 and it playes kirby and mario RPG although apparently not all MK2's are equal, I would recommend trying to get a MK3 if possible.
