Bought this for $.75 cause it look interesting. I just have no idea what it is. SNES game maybe?

It's a Famicom cartridge.

Oh well, that explains that then. Never seen one. Thanks for the help.

... That looks like it might be a bootleg.

I don't think Japanese original games had that sticker on top, but I've seen that kind of sticker on Chinese carts.

Raid on Bungeling Bay for Fami - In photo the JPN cart is Black, but Famicom carts have been known to change color plastic and labels... Cartridge uniformity standards were not applied there like it was here. Bootleg copy is another possibility.

I seriously doubt it's a bootleg. a) most bootleg carts don't go out of their way to look authentic; b) it's a really cheap game and no real reason to make a bootleg of it; c) the label looks too good to be a bootleg, again, especially for something so cheap that no one would take the time & money to make it look "real". The label on top was likely put on there by its previous owner since Fami carts usually don't have labels on top and it's tough to know what game it is when it's sitting on a shelf.

[edit: Scratch that! Upon further inspection... these are loafers. - And besides, the label doesn't fit the indentation on the cart AND even more damning, they misspelled "Raid" and "Bungeling." AND AND the original Fami cart didn't even say that on the front label, only on the box. Definitely a bootleg.]

Then why does that label have kanji and not kana?

The official Japanese name appears to be "バンゲリングベイ" according to Wikipedia Japan (http://ja.wikipedia.org/wiki/%E3%83%90%E3%83%B3%E3%82%B2%E3%83%AA%E3%83%B3%E3%8 2%B0%E3%83%99%E3%82%A4).

Plus, the front sticker doesn't even match the actual cart (http://www.famicom.biz/fc/htmls/6800000071673.html). Here's another picture (http://www.otakaraou.com/product/950). The Japanese title is missing and the "Raid on Bungeling Bay" on Porksta's cart has a different font - and quite a few spelling errors because of the original font looking weird, I believe.

The only thing that wasn't there five hours ago was the very last sentence. If you look at my reply about the edit being confusing, you'll see that I edited that reply (which I did after reading my edit and realizing that it didn't make total sense). Sorry about that...

[edit: Holy crap, or not. My last reply was edited to include the bit about my OTHER edit not making sense, but looking at it, it doesn't show that it was edited. WTF?! Ok now Im confused.]

But seriously, when I made that post, the edit wasn't showing for me, and I went away so maybe you added the edit soon after I hit post and neither of us noticed the changes.
