I see on Ebay that they sell replacment screens for the Game Gear pretty cheap. My game gear is extremely faint when a game is playing, would replacing the screen be the solution? Or is it more a inner hardware issue? If so any links or ideas how I can fix it? Thanks in advance!!!

I've seen others with similar problems solve it by replacing the capacitors.

The screen isn't the problem, the problem is the capacitors on the mainboard. You need to replace all of them. I have done it several times, it is a fairly easy but slow process. As long as you are not terrible at soldering.

Solder out old caps, solder in new ones, and pay attention to polarity. There's really not much more to it.
