Basically, I'm finally going to be able to make enough money where I'll be able to collect games without worrying about being poor again.

How much would it be, on average, to buy a working CD-I system, with a controller, the 3 zelda games, and the mario game?

Thank you

A working CD-i with hookups and one controller should be around $30-$60, depending on the model. The first two Zeldas should be $30 or so each, while Zelda's Adventure will cost $100-$150. Hotel Mario, if I recall correctly, should be $20-$30.

Might I add to this topic that it's not worth buying a CD-i in the 200 range of models, they look like DVD players and have the tray loading drives. They almost always have worn out belts for ejecting the tray and are too much effort to fix. Find a 450 and you'll be very happy.

^ This. I have a CDI 200 and I have the same problem. Luckily, I also have a CDI 615, and while it's still a tray-loader, it does not seem to have that problem.

Check halfblindgamer on YouTube. He's got some videos about buying a cdi system that are really helpful. For instance I didn't know about the batteries of death until him.

I've still not picked up a cdi myself but would like to someday.

My friend wants to sell his model 450 or 550 CDi. It includes all manuals a controller, and a bunch of games, as well as the box, which is a bit beat-up. What can he expect to get for it?
