Ok, so I am curious about this model.

When I looked through wikipedia is says this model is the japanese model 2. But wouldn't that mean it uses NTSC? In the listing it says that this uses PAL. I am confused what model or from what country this is from. Can someone clear this up for me. Thanks.

The box indicates that it is a JP model 2 version, those are NTSC since I owe one. The one I hae the box is exactly the same. Now it is possible that this MD2 was modified for PAL or the seller is wrong as to this being PAL.

Wouldn't parts of Asia use PAL MD2 in a similar box design?

I initially thought that too, but I don't think there was a Asia version of the MD2, MD1 yes but I couldn't find a Asia MD2.

Ya that is what threw me off because there doesn't seem to even be an asian megadrive 2. Also the box has english and some other language written on it (Japanese?). I know Japan is bilingual with english but is asia like that too?

The asian version does indeed have a Japanese box, but if I recall correctly, the sticker on the console will say Asia instead of Japan. If you want to purchase it I would message the seller and ask for a picture of the sticker at the bottom of the console.
MD 2 from Thailand has 50hz PAL output so the gameplay gonna be a bit slower the NTSC that you guys used to.
I know because I have a bunch of this models in stock. :P
