Since it is a demo, there might not be any sound at all. If you have Amiga Explorer, I suggest to download a adf full version of R Type 2 and see if you get sound.

You will need a null modem cable and the Amiga Explorer software. Another thing is to use a Catweasal adapter. Depending on your floppy model, it can be modded to use adf files.

I had that demo when I was a kid, and there was definitely no sound.
I'm not sure if it was supposed to be like that, or if it had something to do with the game being PAL and my Amiga being NTSC.

The chances are there was no sound since it is a demo. My Dragon Ninja demo (my first Amiga disk) at the time had no sound also. RType 2 on the amiga wasn't so great anyways.

It was one of the few games for Amiga that actually used two buttons. It deserves some bonus points for that at least. I never actually played the full game, but the original R-Type for Amiga is decent.

The original version by Factor 5 was excellent. I played that version to death and back in the day I could complete the game with 1 life. RType 2 though was a dissapointment in my opinion.
