Enough with the flooding of the forums with new threads.

The Saturn was a failure, but it was more the fault of how Sega handled it's release plus the previous 32x mismanagement and the Neptune turning to vaporware rather than anything wrong with the system itself. Even though the hardware was difficult to code for, Sega could have overcome that by providing proper development tools and guides, which they failed to do.

An epic failure.

There was a young device called Saturn who's job it was to keep revenue flowing and give companies things to do with money and employees and stuff. It was a good device, capable of generating four times the revenue of everything else around by its sticker price alone. Times were good early on. Hastily prepared Arcade ports and tech demos sold well enough even with less than half of the hardware being programmed for.

Then some of those companies with employees and stuff started kind of whining. They said the device next door was easy to get employees and stuff to work for, and that Saturn made them slam their thumbs in car doors. That's when Saturn noticed it wasn't keeping the revenue flow going like it should.

It was time to go on an epic journey of self discovery. Kits were made and provided, some of which were identical to what the device next door used to so readily amuse companies with employees and stuff. Peripherals were made, and the Saturn was at last equipped with Light Guns, Joysticks, Flight Sticks, a Modem and an Analog game pad complete with analog triggers.

Saturn knew itself well, and it knew its enemy better. It learned to be more transparent, eschewed its two dimensional prowess, and tried to get companies with employees and stuff to make more games that wouldn't work in Arcades. Awesome games were made, people were amused, but revenue was still lower than before.

And then, Saturn was murdered by the evil Stolar. The end.

I still purchase games for it to this day, so I personally don't think it was a failure.

However, if you are referring to failure in an economical standpoint, then I see your point. For me personally, as long as I play and enjoy the console, it's not a failure.

For me, failure is when there is something you don't like. I like the Saturn, so it's not a failure.

I always liked Saturn, it has those cool rings. It's the second largest planet in our solar system, so it can hardly be considered a failure. Earth on the other hand...

Don't worry. We should be safe for now, as 16bitter hasn't found this forum yet.

X2, and another proxy rep. I'm going to have to start an excel sheet, or maybe just a notepad. ;)
