just got this clone in the mail today....shoulda done my research a little better....i already knew the sound was gonna be bad...so i can live with that.....but i put vectorman 2 in the cart slot....it works...then i try and try and try to take it out and finally it comes out.

But, something happened in the cart slot...not sure what but vectorman as well as all of my other genesis carts will not fit.

something has broken already on the inside.....i've tried everything i could to get it to work....but oh well

gonna send back to amazon

i never should have thought this would be a good alternative to the NOMAD

lol, don't feel bad I broke mine within the first 2 hours almost the same way. One of my carts would not start so I thought it wasn't in far enough because the thing has a damn tight fit, next thing I know I can no longer get the power to turn on. Piece of shit I tell ya!

Yeah piece of crap, I try to warn everyone before it's too late, but can't warn everyone I guess.

It costs more, but an LCD modded Nomad is MILES better.

Funny how a piece of 15-year-old technology is superior to modern emulation devices endorsed by Sega.

Quite sad actually, Sega should be ashamed of themselves.

One would hope, but I'm afraid Sega gave up integrity when the Dreamcast died.

There's a trick to taking carts out of GenMobile, don't just pull straight out. Pull on corner up first and then cart will come out easy.

That or a modded PSP. I still use my Nomad quite a bit.

Good advice, but it still hurts the GenMobile's case.

I bought a Retrogen Portable from the first wave. I love being able to bring it with me to Play 'N Trade and the like just to test carts (including EU Pal, Brazilian and JP NTSC). It is extremely handy and has the longest-lasting battery life I've seen for a handheld (right alongside, if not beyond, my GBA SP and DS Lite). I do keep hearing the more sought-after GenMobile to be of slightly lesser quality and make (starting with the smaller screen). Most wanted the GenMobile mainly for it's "d-pad". The one item for which I actually bought my Retrogen Portable was to be able to extend my RPG gameplay on the go, ,and it seems only 2/3 to half the titles won't save propperly. Even so, I've come to the conclussion that no matter what they come-up with, as long as it's not an official Sega product and it carries actual hardware (no emulation), I won't be wanting to beat or play any of my titles as long as I have my Genny plugged in. ;)

At any rate, that really is too bad to hear about the GenMobile. I was hoping to get one, since it was the "officially-licensed" one.

I was somewhat disappointed with the Gen Mobile. I knew the sound was going to be horrid, but I didn't know it would have a flimsy build quality, and the d pad and button placement aren't all that precise. It's good for any casual Genesis games you might have, but not so much for action titles.

anyway i cant believe how cheaply made this product is....awful.....i have an FC 16 Go as well and have had zero problems with the hardware....a shame that some of the snes carts won't work on it...but thats a whole other story

That's a shame about the FC 16 Go. I have an FC Mobile 2 and it's pretty great. I've yet to find an NES cartridge that doesn't work on it.
