A monster of a cartridge. You getting these things fixed with regards to those suicide batteries as you get them or just later, Butta?

Haven't dealt with any of the suicide stuff yet, there is someone over at the ng.com boards who can fix them so they don't need a battery at all. If I'm not comfortable with my soldering skills, I might just send it to him to fix, although he is in Finland, so shipping is expensive.

Maybe I'll just get cheaper cart to try out changing the battery.

Yep, then I just connect the kick harness to the CPS2 A board to get the 3 kick buttons to work. Paid 114 shipped for this one, sniped it on ebay with 4 seconds left or so. :)

@norkusa, the game is known as the B board, it connects to a motherboard or A board. The A board has a Jamma connector on it which you would connect to a cab or a supergun. So you just have one A board, and you can switch out games easily. Kinda like Neo Geo MVS, but bigger carts.

Very cool. I'd recommend getting a cheap board to try battery removal on em. You have to do it fast, cause if you don't get it wired right immediately, the boards die and you have to send them back to Capcom at heavy $ to get them fixed.

What, the board needs to see current from the battery OR ELSE? If that's the case, couldn't you wire an extra battery to the circuit in parallel to keep the juice flowing until you can solder in the more permanent replacement?

Or, in view of your custom title, Maxlords...

The board must have the power all the time?
If so then you must solder mighty quick!
But I suggest a bypass power line
might save it, and I have a giant dick!

Butta - where do the wires go on the kick harness? I know that you plug the one side into the board, but where do the wires from the kick harness go?

I need to know this for future purchases. I am seriously considering a Killer Instinct board with hard drive and kick harness, but don't know where the kick harness would connect to.

Any ideas?

Neat.. I actually purchased an arcade machine, and inside of it is an X-Men - Children of the atom Capcom CPS-2 (blue) box..

I'm converting the machine to MAME, so will not need it..

do you guys know what it's worth? anybody need it / want it? It worked flawlessly last time I checked (a month or so ago).

Oh man, an ST board, thats sweet.
I remember my only experience with ST. My Old Sagat got beat the hell down by New Vega *shakes fist* damn you London Ontario! I shall have my revenge yet!
But seriously, thats a cool item you got. ST machines I don't think ever saw as much market penetration as the other versions of SF2, since as far as I've ever seen, only places that seemed to get them in any number were big cities like Chicago, New York, and the west coast. I've NEVER seen one in SE michigan.
