This one is not recognizing CDs just like what the last one did to me. I am using the correct AC adapter this time and have not even been playing burned games in it. The lid switch is working. I think this is a laser issue again. Instead of messing with the adjustments on this one, I think I am gonna just put a new laser in it. Has anyone ever used the Saturn laser? I have heard that its the same as the second Gen Saturn laser, I am just not sure where I can find one. This is so frustrating. Now using my CDX. I prefer to have it tucked away.

Yup, works just fine as long as it is just the laser assembly. I used my Saturn laser to prove that my X'Eye had a motherboard issue :-(

Do you know where to get a new Saturn laser? Ugghhh... maybe I should just give up on the jvc... always have nothing but problems with them.

Ebay usually. I can't remember the part number, but I am sure you can google it up.

Nice... now i just hope its the laser and not the motherboard. It says to put a disc on the turn table. I know the lid switch works because when you put The lid down it reboots the console.

Just wanted to let you know that I replaced my X'eye's laser about a year ago as it was having issues reading discs. Strangely, it could read burned disks just fine, but struggled with official disks. I ordered a replacement laser from Liberty Electronics and installed it without any issues. It's been working great ever since.

You might try testing it with burned disks, audio cd's, etc and see if it succeeds in reading anything. If so, you can probably eliminate the motherboard issues.

Well I figured out what the problem was. It was laser related, but the laser is OK. I took some pictures and will post the results of what happened and how I fixed it here real soon.

The symptoms on this issue, CD not spinning, Odd scraping sound, and says to put a disc on the turn table. Other people may have had similar symptoms, but the same problem. Hopefully this is a fix for a lot of people.
