Anyone here been playing Spiral Knights, the new free MMO from Sega?
I signed up just before the weekend and I'm becoming slowly addicted to it. It strikes me as a cross between PSO and 2D Zelda. I love the style and futuristic steampunk vibe it has going on.
I found the combat isn't particularly deep but certainly enjoyable and there's a lot of content in terms of enemies, items, crafting etc
It seems to have the usual pitfalls of some MMOs. People become purely item obsessed, treasure hoggers etc and I think it would be better with a group of friends. For a free game however, I recommend!
As I was playing though, it struck me as a great game for the 3DS if Nintendo wanted to show off their 'new' online improvements. I think it would do well on handhelds.
