Somebody in the NAVA thread was seeking a Sega CD, and I recalled that I've got one that I've hardly ever used. I pulled it off the shelf, belw off the dust, and proceeded to hook it up. I can't get a video signal out of the frankenstein contraption (Gen, 32x, CD), and while trying different configurations I began to wonder whether or not a couple of my cables were in-fact intended for the Sega Genesis world.

I have two cables - one has an automatic switchbox on one end, the other cable has AV cables on one end. Each has an identical plug at the other end. The plug is round, approximately what I would call mini-DIN sized, and has three pins. Two of the pins are side-by-side and in one corner of the connector, the other pin is all alone in the opposite corner.

I tried to take a clear pic of the plug, shown below.

Can anybody confirm what this is? Is this cable for the Gen 2/32x/Sega CD?

Thanks.

I'm 95% certain that's a Saturn AV cable. Genesis model 2 AV cables have a plug that is very similar but not quite the same.

Move that up to 100%. A Genesis 2 family cable won't have the pinched in area at the bottom, the Saturn does.
