Doom 2 on Mac will be a "Mac Classic" app. It should theoretically run on 10.6, but "Rosetta" would have to be installed. Usually, if Rosetta isn't installed, the system will prompt to download and install from the web automatically the first time you run a Mac Classic app.

Short answer: "maybe".

Wait, if you know nothing about Macs, how was this "Tested and guaranteed to work"? Why did you offer to answer "any" questions about it? :D

Rosetta is for running PowerPC Mac OS X applications. This is a pre-OS X program, so it instead requires the Classic environment (e.g., old Mac OS running inside OS X). Classic was dropped as of 10.5, so no, it won't work.

It's possible they might be able to use the resources with one of the fan Doom engines though.

There's also Sheepshaver, the emulator for pre-OS X power macs, but that's not particularly easy to get running.

BAD IDEA. If you can't test an item, say so. It'll prevent any problems in the future.

Ah yes, thank you for the clarification. It has been a long time.

I remember playing Mac Doom in a tiny window.
