View Full Version : Let's Artificially Inflate a Game

So as we've all come to agree, Earthbound is a joke of a game but with a Mona Lisa price tag. Nothing about it makes sense, it's readily available, yet somehow commands a ridiculous price due to all the fanboy pricks. Now this all started because idiots began to praise this "lost" classic, and of course, all the lemmings bought into the hype, and now we have the current situation.

Now this got me thinking. Why don't we all join forces to artificially inflate the price of another game. We will call this project: Operation Earthbound 2. The game has to be cheap in price, available and average. It also has to be an rpg, since a lot of moron gamers seem to like that category of games.

My research has led me to the following game to inflate. I nominate Arcana for the SNES.

Okay, here's the plan: I need everyone who does reviews, whether on youtube, through your own websites etc to make reviews of Arcana and praise it as being the greatest rpg game with an amazing story full on interesting quirks that doesn't take itself serious. In your reviews, please use the following keywords: revolutionary, extremely rare, limited production, highly valuable, must have, innovative, ground-breaking, deep, highly desirable, collectible etc. Remember, the goal is to make the zombie morons believe the game is rare/valuable so we can jack up the price.

So spread the word and start those reviews. Satoshi and others with game review websites, get on this immediately. Let's get this game on ebay above the $100 price ASAP.

thank you.

I think it is hilarious how much whining about Earthbound prices are going on.

If you don't want to pay for it, don't pay for it. No one is forcing anyone to pay for it -- and if it really isn't worth the price it's commanding, it'll go down in price as the market shifts.

This is the 4th thread on Earthbound in a week. Can we get a mod to merge them all together?

Are you really serious? Or are you just upset that you don't have a copy of EB yet?

This thread is NOT about Earthbound. It's about Arcana.

thank you.

How about we simply ban everyone who has started a thread whining about it this year?

Arcana was the second RPG I ever played and beat. It really deserves more fans, but I'll just wait until you get banned or something.

@MyTurnToPlay If you really want a copy of Earthbound that bad, just wait 5-10 years. Seriously, within that time I'm positive that this bubble (along with the current bubble around PCE/TG16 stuff) is going to pop and you'll be able to get a copy at a more reasonable price. Ridiculous threads like this constantly whining about how you should be entitled to a cheap copy make you look like a spoiled brat.

In 5-10 years SNES games will drop to the prices that Atari and (soon to be NES) games are. Though at that point, you'll probably be complaining about why it's SOOOO stupid that you can't get a copy of Suikoden II for under $500 and how you'll give someone $100 for a copy.

Too bad Arcana sucks and is pretty common for an SNES game.

Well yes. That is the point. To take an average and common game, and hype it up beyond recognition such that its price on ebay explodes.

In one month's time, I want to see Arcana being sold on ebay for close to $100. Let's get to work fellas. We have a lot of hyping to do. And feel free to spread the word on other forums/sites etc. Whatever it takes to inflate the price of Arcana.

And stop talking about Earthbound. No one cares.

thank you.

No don't use Arcana, a better game to hype up and buy would be ET on the Atari 2600. Ok, MyTurnToPlay start bidding on ebay for ET and put your max amount to $100. Someone will always beat you at the last second and bid $101 to $110. There you go, what a plan.
