Does anyone know what the last issue of nintendo power was before the NES was no longer part of the magazine? Yes I realize it's a bit hard to pinpoint exactly but what part of the run constitutes the "nes era" before being phased out entirely? Any help is greatly appreciated thank you.

Pretty sure it was December 1994, as that was the last issue they ran an NES "Top 20" (or whatever list). Unless you want to count the 10-year anniversary retrospective article in November 1995.
(also, I'm pretty sure NP covered Flintstones 2 in late 1993, as that is when they were anticipating its release. I wonder what the delay was then. I know people have said it was a rental-only release, but then I wonder why I've seen many copies in nice shape. I'd expect them to look crappy, and the box and manual in crap to non-existent shape (rips, stains, rental stickers) :P )

So apparently the answer is issue number 67. Thanks guys. Tried using the search function figuring this has come up before but doing a nintendo power search brings up a LOT of stuff on this site.

Here's my list of games on the cover of Nintendo Power:

In terms of covers, it was #49:

Nintendo Power 049 (June 1993): Battletoads & Double Dragon (last cover to feature an NES game)

(My list features other trivia too, like first cover to feature a celebrity, first cover to feature a Game Boy game, etc.)
