It is that time of the week again for yet another Beta to be released.

This week however, it is not flying the Bananabreak banner, but it does represnt another group of anonymous members who just wanted to do something a little different. Never fear for Banabreak shall return!

Anyhow...

FLT are proud to present the Street Fighter III 3rd Strike v1.000 NTSC-U Beta

I personally dumped this release myself using: Dreamcast (duh), BBA, SYSTEM-DISC 2, httpd-ack, Family Guy's pack, IsoBuster, HxD, Daemon Tools and last but not least the infamous Padus DiscJuggler.

As for changes to the final game I cannot say for sure, but the retail NTSC-U release is v1.001 so it is possible there are some differences.

This is the first FLT release. FLT are a group of Beta owners looking to release discs anonymously so I am serving as the public face (even if it is like a slapped arse!), but if there any thanks the anonymous members deserve them too!

To be clear FLT = Fork Lift Truck

Enjoy!

Why not do bit comparisons on the files between the beta and the final version? :p

Edit: I jest. You're doing fine work here.

Well, I love this game, and I was happy to download the beta to see what it was all about.

As for the version released on the Dreamcast of 3rd Strike in the US, it didn't get a lot of play because it was missing an "Unblockable" trap from the character Urien. Which is a core part of his game. It was taken out because it was seen at a glitch, but he needed it to be an actual competitor in that game.
He would throw a flashing wall out, jump behind you and hit you into the wall forcing you to be damaged from both sides, causing an unblockable situation.

This was taken out in later arcade versions and the Dreamcast version of the game. I was able to do an "Unblockable" set up in the beta, I did a couple set ups in training with the computer set to "all guard" so that he would block everything. I was able to damage him and force him into a combo. Although it was not consistent, which is not normal to either version.

So far it seems:
You can not to Unblockables with Urien in v1.001.
You can do Unblockables with Urien in v1.000 NTSC-U Beta

I will check later to see if there were any other changes. This was the only major change I can think of.

I'll do more research this evening.

Bit for bit may take a long time and may not reveal many clues, but a true fan of the game like Typhoon Timmy will spot some weirdness as soon as he pops the disc in :D Very nice discovery there mate about Urien - the GD-R owner is chuffed ;)
