Would you trade a working 80g no backwards compatibility 2 usb port and no memory card slots for an original 80g backwards compatible, 4 usb port, and 3 memory card slots that has a problem with no composite video output but the s- video works fine PS#? I checked and it's the 80g bc comp model number to. Any thoughts?

If you're never planning on composite video, sure. Have you tried component and HD?

Try out a PS2 game, component cables, and hdmi. If those all work, then yes.

If everything else is definitely in working order, absolutely.

Composite video doesn't work but s video works. Can't find anything about repairing no composite video problems.Tried a ps2 game and it worked and looked fine. But I don't have a hd tv to try it on.Opinions or any thoughts? I wonder if there is a place that will fix and send back the original deck. I don't think Sony will.Plus tried swapping hard drives but they mount different and both need to be reformatted and all info on drives need to be switched.

Well, took the plunge and traded so now I have a bc 80g Ps3. Like having just one machine set up to play 3 different formats with no money out of pocket. Plus I'd rather send it to a repair shop if it takes a dump, preferably not Sony. Can anyone recommend a good place to send to if I need it repaired that they have dealt with? Thanks.
