I think it would depend on the size of the floppies used (5.25" vs. 3.5", if the game came out in both formats). But as far as 3.5" floppies go, I believe there are three.

Somehow I thought this was going to be about taking a trip to find Bin Laden.

Actually, both my PC and Amiga copies came with five 3.5" discs. It's possible that they came up with better compression on the PC side as time went on, although I'm not sure which version the OP has and the only PC re-release I ever heard about was on a CD based compilation.

I thought it was going to be a Weekend at Bernie's sequel. I now have to look this game up to play it, an adventure game by the same people who made Out of this World should be alright.

From what I could look up online, it came on 5 floppy disks or 1 CD.

There's a German PC copy on Ebay right now with five 3.5" discs. Mine is packed away at the moment, but I played it not too long ago and recall thinking that it was odd that the Amiga and the PC had the same number of discs despite the fact that the PC has higher density discs.

Yeah, it was named Another World in other regions. It had numerous ports besides the Sega Genesis, there was a PC version too.

I based my info from an adventure game website that lists some basic technical information, usually they're pretty accurate about listing multiple versions. It just lists 5 disks or 1 CD and it's for the PC version. It could be missing some info, but that's all I could find.

MobyGames has some snaps of the floppies, they say that it requires a Double Density drive. But most of the floppies I've seen are High Density - which could hold around twice the amount. So maybe this guy got a rerelease that only had three 1.44 MB floppies? I've bought different versions of games that came with different kinds of floppies depending on the year and / or if they were a budget rerelease.

I'm looking up those pics on Mobygames and the disks say they're for High Density drives. :?

Wait, is your copy the VGA 16-Colour version instead of the 256-Colour version?

Here's a link to what my version looks like http://mocagh.org/thumb/cruisecorpsekixx.jpg notice how this one is kixx xl

so this would explain why it may have 3 disks. because my one was released by XL KIXX not us gold.
