This weekend I spend some time at a German Retro Convention (HomeCon 12 (http://www.homecon.net)) and came across this nice little toy: The "Frankenstein" Arcade table.

This ain't just a typical gaming table running Gyruss. This is a broken down arcade table (dated June 1977, maufactured in Gießen, Germany) that has been gutted and refitted with a PC running a dedicated MAME-emulator, so basically it's now an emulation based multi-arcade-table)

The creator detailed the creation process in his blog. The text is in German, but I think the pictures there speak for themselves (http://www.homecon.net/index.php/artikel/42-bp/891-frankenstein-arcade-table.html - for an english translation, here's a google translated version (http://translate.google.de/translate?u=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.homecon.net%2Findex.p hp%2Fartikel%2F42-bp%2F891-frankenstein-arcade-table.html&sl=de&tl=en&hl=&ie=UTF-8))
I think it's pretty cool. The old hardware wasn't working anyway, so I think this is a great way of enhancing an old product and breathing in some new life.
What do you guys think?
