Here is little topic I have not seen before...

So, How many are currently hooked up and ready to play?
I just counted mine and was surprised I'm up to 17!
2 in the bedroom. (3DO & Xbox)
2 in the living room. (2 Laptops)
3 in the family room. (Dreamcast, Xbox, Xbox360)
8 in the man-cave. (PC, Xbox, 2 System Linked Xboxes, N64, Dreamcast, PS2, Gamecube)
1 in the laundry room/gym. (Xbox running XBMC for workout tunes!)
1 PC in the office.

This number will increase when my renovations are done.
I have a few more consoles to hook up when I have the space.

I have an N64 hooked up to the tv and an XBOX360 and PC hooked up to my monitor.
Everything else is stowed away in the closet.

Right now I have my Super Nintendo and PSOne hooked up to the TV in my room. I use the Super GameBoy on the Super Nintendo so I guess you could say the GameBoy is hooked up too. :)

I had the Sega Genesis hooked up, but I was rarely playing it and decided to put her away for the time being. That's one less ugly wall-wart I have to deal with. :)

3 x PS2
2 x 360
2 x SNES
1 x Genesis 3
1 x Genesis 2
1 x CDX
1 x Saturn
1 x Dreamcast
1 x TG16
1 x Duo-R
1 x SMS
1 x N64
1 x 3D0
1 x Gamecube
1 x NES
1 x Wii

Damn...excluding portables...looks like 20 systems hooked up. That's not counting the PC, the arcade machine, or any of the portables (2 x DS, 1 x 3DS, 2 x PSP2K, 2 x GBA SP). It should be noted that that's spanning 4 entertainment centers around the house....

Let's see, I've got a Wii in the living room, a front loader NES, top loader NES, SNES, N64, Genesis, and PS2 in my brother's room, and a PS3 and Super Famicom in my room. I can add a 360 to that list if I ever fix the damn thing, and a Saturn whenever I get some games for it.

Only the SNES. Slimline PS2, fat PS3, NES, and N64 collecting dust due to lack of interest.

I don't have much of a collection (yet). :|

master bedroom hdtv has a PC, a PS3 and a PS2 hooked up

computer room has a PC hooked up to a monitor and a hdtv. Also another PS3, a JP 360, modded xbox and PS2 hooked to that same tv.

Also in the computer room is an RGB CRT hooked up with another PS2, a Saturn, Super Famicom, Duo-R, Wondermega (megadrive cd combo) and a famicom.

Also got another hdtv in that same computer room with another PC hooked up to it and a feed that allows most of the other consoles in there to display on this screen as well.

spare bedroom has an hdtv with another PS3, a US 360, PS2, Wii and a PC hooked up to it.

a CRT downstairs has one of those little cheap gamebox emulator units hooked up to it.

At my apartment, I've cut back to just the Wii (though I do have a Saturn on standby in case of any sudden Virtua Cop cravings). At my parents house I have a NES2 and a SNES2 hooked up in my old bedroom. Modern games during the week, retro games during laundry days ;)

Even though I'm a collector of the older systems, I only have an Xbox, 360S, and Wii right now. The Xbox does everything I need it to do when wanting to play older-gen systems.

I guess you could add my PSP to the list as well. Great system for on-the-go gaming.

MachineGex
05-26-2011, 10:18 PM
At least 23 systems.....24 if you count the Master system that hooks up to the Genny.....

1 360
1 PS3
2 Xbox
1 Wii
3 2600
1 7800
1 Atari XEGS
2 NES
1 SNES
1 FC Twin
2 Genesis
1 Sega CD
1 Gamecube
1 Intellivision
1 Colecovision
1 Odyssey 2
1 N64
1 PS2
1 Master System via Genesis

I am sure I am missing one or two systems. We have five TV's in the house. One TV in the Family room, 2 TVs in the Rec room, 1 TV in my office/gameroom, 1 TV in my son's room (which only has a 2600 hooked up to it). Half of the systems are in my office/gameroom.

Ah-one. Ah-two. Ah-three. Three consoles hooked up right now, unless my NES clone counts, but the a/c adapter isn't plugged in because the power strip is full of other crap. Hey, I can play Dragon's Lair on my DVD player ..so is that 5??

What?! It doesn't count?

PS2, Dreamcast, Wii, for the record.

Not counting handhelds or computers, none. I don't have the space to leave anything hooked up, if I want to play I have to hook it up and pack it away when I'm done.

About 16 I think, counting the Vectrex. 15 in my game room, and a second Wii in the living room. I wouldn't count hand held systems, as some have, since they're not actually 'hooked up' to anything.

Drixxel
05-27-2011, 03:18 AM
At present, I have 7 consoles currently hooked up and ready to play in my living room:

NES (front loader)
SNES (model 1)
N64
Genesis (model 1)
PSX
Xbox 360
Wii

...with a Jaguar & 2600 nearby, unhooked but sitting on a neighbouring shelf due to a lack of space around the TV. The Wii's been getting some extra love lately, I picked up a set of component cables just recently and it's given me a reason to revisit the GameCube library.

Currently: SNES, PS2 (slim), PS3, Genesis - the Genesis and PS2 may sometimes be swapped with NES, N64 or Gamecube, but the other two are mainstays.

There was a while I had: NES, SNES, Genesis, N64, Atari 2600, SMS, and Intellivision all at once. My current place is significantly smaller, and my entertainment unit stayed behind, but that was a sweet set-up I had. Maybe one day when I can afford a bigger place, I will have a genuine man-room with a super gaming station set up.

2600

GameCube w/ GB player
Wii

I think that about covers it...but I also have a PS3 which I'm repairing. Once that's done, I'll be redoing the cabling behind the entertainment center to make selecting a game easier/more logical. It's a bit confusing at the moment. :D

I wanna be the very best
Like no one ever was
To own them all is my real test
To play them all is my cause

I will travel across ebay
Searching auctions far and wide
Each game system to understand
The blast processing that's inside

Sega, its you and me
I know its my destiny
Atari, oh, you're my worst friend
In a world I must reject

Nintendo, a heart so true
My fanboyism will pull us through

You entertain me and I'll play you
Game systems, gotta own'em all

Every challenge along the way
With open wallets I will buy
I will bid every day
To claim my rightful prize

Come with me, the time is right
There's no better collector
Hands down I'll win the forum fight
It's always been my dream...............

I appear to have 14 machines all hooked up to one 28"~ CRT.

360, Wii, N64, Xbox, Saturn, Dreamcast, and JP and US PS2s sharing the same cord, all on the S-Video box.

In the AV switchbox, you've got the Genesis/32x/Sega CD, which I'm counting as one combined machine, an NES, a 3DO, and a Master System. If I ever bother finding my generic S-vid cord I'll probably move the 3DO over to that switcher, where a single space is still available.

Finally with the RF switcher, there's a Colecovision and the Atari 7800, with a 5200 switchbox hooked in. I just don't have the space for the machine proper.

Finally there's a Vectrex opposite that TV, which is not in that initial count but is nevertheless hooked up and ready to go. I figure when the time comes that I have more space and income, I can get a new tv, shift some of the newer consoles to that, and shuffle a couple more older consoles onto this one that currently have to have a "revolving door" for being hooked up, like the Turbo Duo, the Neo Geo, and the rest of the pre-crash console collection.

Hooked up?

My PC, Xbox 360 and Playstation 3. (I guess technically and my Vectrex as it's always hooked up since it has it's own monitor)

Systems that can be hooked up with about 10 mins notice...

Wii
Xbox
PlayStation 2

Everything else that I've got is either stored or would take longer than 10 minutes to set up right now.

In my current setup, all I really have room for is 4 or 5 max. I'm trying to keep my gaming as focused as I can so only working on a few games at a time helps with that. Right now the main four I have hooked up are NES 2, SNES 2, Nintendo 64, and Gamecube. I only have the Gamecube temporarily hooked up to play more of the Sonic spinoffs for Game Gear via my 100% file of Sonic Adventure DX. After that, the PS One will probably get its spot back. The NES and SNES are going to stay hooked up most of the time once the powerpaks arrive, and the Nintendo 64 will have to stay hooked up for quite a while because I own at least 12 more games for it that I plan to play and finish for this year. It's usually the Sega systems that I end up swapping out for one another more often.

I just moved into my new apartment and just finished setting up a few systems. Right now hooked up to my TV (Sony Bravia 46" LCD) is my Xbox 360, PS3, PS2, NES and SNES. Aside from my Genesis these are the systems I play the most.

This really only leaves one slot left for all my other systems. So I'm going to have the cords ready to be switched out pretty easily and that will account for my Genesis + Sega CD, Saturn, Dreamcast, Gamecube, N64 and 3DO.

So to answer the thread: 5 with 7 easily available.

Currently, I have a Laseractive (S-10 PAC only), Saturn, and Dreamcast hooked up. I just put away the 3DO the other day, after an intense week of Twisted.

Genesis is all I need, the rest stay in the closet and get hooked up on a rotating basis throughout the year. For instance, I usually only play my 64 in the Summer for some reason. I can hear it calling my name from the closet right now as a matter of fact. Mmmmm, some Madden 99 sounds pretty good right about now.

I have been thinking about the ultimate dream setup for a Retro gamers dream house(my mind wonders at work, these are the stupid things I think about)

When I lived with my friend I think at one point we had 7 systems hooked up including an NES and Atari Jaguar. Now that I live with my girlfriend I now have my NES, Xbox 360,N64 and Wii. The Wii is hers.
