The Famicom turns twenty this July 15. Or so says GameSpy. In honor of this historic occasion, they're dedicating a week's worth of articles to the system.

I'm curious . . . does anyone here own a Famicom?

I've got a Famicom. Actually I had two at one time - I gave one away in the Spring Cleaning Contests of 2001 and the other one is in the CGE Museum in Vegas with it's brother disk system. That's the nice set.

No console, but I have about 15 Famicom games I play with an adapter.

Yes I got a Famicom. I first saw it in Japan (and absolutely freaked out at it) but thought it would never come to the states. But then all of a sudden they started selling bootleg versions back at home so I picked one up and played it that way. I eventually figured out the Nintendo version was the real deal and got that console instead.
But THEN, the NES came out.. so I didn't bother with the Famicom and the japanese/bootleg carts anymore.. and from that point on only bought NES stuff.. heck, they were in english! :P

Playing the REAL SMB2 rocks!

Does anyone know of any really good (DP quality) resources for Famicom collecting? I'm more interested in info than rarity/pricing, though I'd be curious about those too. The amount of pirates out there is staggering...a good reference to the legit stuff (in English) is sorely needed.
