Bethesda is releasing 200,000 copy limited run of the Elder Scrolls: Oblivion 5th Anniversary Edition at the end of june. May be collectable!

Personally I love that its coming packed in a Steelbook Case for PS3, 360 and PC

Snag up a copy if you can before this release becomes widely known about!

I had a hard time locating it on Amazon, probably due to the akward name it was given...

Also, can a Moderator edit the title of this thread? Its Vague...

That would interest me if I didn't already have the GOTY edition on 360. This being said, looks good and not too expensive for collectors and fans of the series.

I oughta resume playing Oblivion soon. It's been too long since I last played!

While this is neat, there is no indication it's "limited" in any way. The 200K number being thrown around came from one sketchy website where some forum member claimed he spoke to a distributor and they supposedly said they would only do 200K units. He also claimed it would only be made available to indy mom and pop game stores. Leaving aside the fact that details were very sketchy and most distributors wouldn't release proprietary information like that, it's available for pre-order on Amazon, Overstock and many other sites including Best Buy. As such, this alleged information about the release being limited is dubious at best.

You could be right, however... Steelbook? Its a book of steel!

I was going to purchase the Game of the Year Edition again sometime, so I'm glad I waited.

It'd be nice if they fixed the loading issues so you don't walk part way across the world only for now loading to appear for a few seconds on the middle of the screen. I highly doubt that'll happen though. Of course, I could always get the PC game, but not a PC fan.

Yes, which contains a 5 year old game that is already widely available for less. I still think it's neat, but I wish people would at least provide accurate information instead of just reposting rumors and speculation.

Does this inclue all the DLC (The GOTY edition just included the biggest pieces of it, like Shivering Isles, as I recall and left out numerous smaller DLC expansions for the game).

A limited run would not surprise me at all honestly. Look at the Force Unleashed Sith Edition

It's a cool idea to simultaneously promote Skyrim while making a little money off of collectors...but it's pretty much pointless to me. I still have my launch copy (rated "T") along with every piece of DLC available (except the Horse Armor...which is amusingly the XBL Deal of the Week right now).

The PS3 version mentions "Trophies" on the back of the box, which would be exciting, but others have pointed out this is a mistake. Bethesda hasn't officially said if they're included or not.

How is 200,000 units limited at all? Isn't that a normal production amount for most games that aren't blockbuster hits like Mario or Zelda titles?

Maybe it's 200,000 between all systems. But yeah. Not limited at all considering how many people are probably going to be interested in purchasing it. Release a game as limited and everyone jumps on it though.

I may jump on this one. I always wanted to try Oblivion on a console, and I've never played it through without loads of mods. Been wanting to try the expansion content too, I only had the original T-Rated release of the game.

I'm disappointed with that $10 off coupon, though. Now that I see it's only good if you buy the guide as well, the value of this went down for me. It would have been like buying the GOTY edition and Skyrim for the going rate, as GOTY is $20 on Steam, but I really don't want to buy an overpriced guide.

If the PC version has any enhancements like DX10/11 renderer or something like that, I'll go that route. Otherwise, I think I'll pick up the PS3 version.

Also, FYI the 200K is the anticipated run for the game, not the exact number. Sorry can't remember where I read that.

I might buy this if it includes all the DLC (and not just Knights of the Nine/Shivering Isles). I don't already own the game in any form, but I played it on a friend's X-Box and honestly quite liked it.
