Please track down some first-party Gamecube memory cards. You will not regret it.

...and he will regret it if he doesn't.I've only used the same third party one since the year the Gamecube launched. What's the deal with third party ones, exactly?

3rd party cards are more prone to failure/data loss. As with everything in life, YMMV.

I've lost all of my saves before... it was on a 3rd-party 1019 block memory card from Interact.

I've lost all of my saves before... it was on a 3rd-party 1019 block memory card from Interact. That's exactly what I use; I suppose I've been lucky so far. FWIW, I have a second memory card that I've always used to back up the main one up. I'd transfer saves over all the time. I was more concerned with physically losing my card more than memory loss though, honestly (I'd take my Gamecube to work and on trips a lot).

That is exactly what happened to me on PS1. Being 13 or 14 years old I was overjoyed when I saw that it was a trillion memory cards in one. Then it died, and it was none memory cards in one. Thankfully I'd only backed up a few saves.
Laziness saved me for once.
Once I have the time, space and cash I'm going to put together a classic gaming room. Nice Sony CRT, shelves of old school games, etc.
BTW-those penants, I'm guessing they're from around the late 90s? 96-99?

If I were you I'd find a better spot for that Xbox 360. Looks very crammed in there without much air flow (Not to mention that you have the vents covered up with the thing running). Isn't going to last long operating it the way your pictures show.
Your GCN memory cards look like they're MadCatz brand. I haven't had any issues with the pair I bought in late 2002 or early 2003 when I bought my system and preordered Wind Waker for the Ocarina of Time preorder bonus disc. They've been very reliable and work well to this day (A rarity for a MadCatz product, especially from that time period). While I generally agree about 3rd party memory cards in general, I think MadCatz produced pretty decent GCN memory cards. So I wouldn't let them worry you about them.
What's up with the odd colored Wavebird reciever in the 2nd controller port? Is it being discolored from age like Super Nintendo's often do or actually a different color?
Anyways, looks like a nice game room. :)

I just noticed that you have the Resident Evil 5 Edition XBOX360. That's the same one I have set up in my game room. It also looks like you have a Zelda sweet potato ocarina next to the television. I have one of those as well, though I never actually learned to play it.
I'd really consider removing all of the things that you have resting on top of your consoles. I tend to say that same things when I see game room pics. I probably sound knit-picky, but it's just a personal peeve of mine I suppose. I hate to see consoles get scuffed and dinged up unnecessarily. There's also the clutter issue, but again, I'm sort of a neat freak when it comes to certain things.
Cool luchador mask, BTW. That's not something you see everyday.

First off- Sweet double barrell neft shotgun on the floor. I have an 8 year old brother and when I go over to my parents house he is always sure to blast me with both nerf bullets :) haha.
2nd-if you need or want first party GC Memory cards I'll have a few available after my ten day initiation period. (Sunday) I'll be able to get them to ya pretty affordable.
keldon, in that first photograph, what is the game on the television?

The image displayed on the television is the Xbox 360's dashboard.

Right, but what I mean is, what is the anime-looking imagery in the background?
