Well, I wish I could remember who sent it to me, but I've got a CD full of MP3's recording several CGE keynote speeches. They're split up into multiple parts of 6mb or less.

I pulled 4 of them off of the CD and uploaded them to our mirror site. If you want to get a preview of the keynotes, give these a listen! This is the first part of four very popular keynotes from last years' show.

The Activision Guys Panel:

Al Alcorn, Father of Pong:

The Intellivision Guys Panel:

Warren Robinett, The First Easter Egg:

Enjoy! And if you listen, please post feedback here. Consider that the moderatnig will be a little more organized this year, with our pal Zach Meston joining CGE and alternating with Leonard Herman at the podium.

Thanks Joe,

This brings back memories of last Aug. I really wish I could go this year :(

I video taped last year's CGE but the tape cut off during the Activision session right when Ken Love was asking interesting questions about things I had never heard before.

If this is what the audio tapes sound like from last year, I think I'll look into buying that one.

ARRRGHHHH! I was just really getting into the Warren Robinett thing when the file ended! But that response is a good thing. :D

And believe you me, I'm thrilled at the opportunity to make myself look like an ass in front of North America's most hardcore retro-gamers. Doh! I'm curious if Lenny's voice is as annoying as mine, and if he's somehow whiter than I am...

Ahh, memories...

The Warren Robinett keynote was great last year, but where's the MP3 of the story of calling his boss while drunk?

Are you kidding? I'd love to be in the position of introducing a few "names." Besides, I've already made an ass of myself in front of these folks - they're used to it. LOL

I just want to know when we're getting Van Burnham back to moderate :P

Since she had her baby about a year ago now, I've only heard from her once. I think she's retired or at least on a very long hiatus from the classic gaming world. It's too bad, she was a lot of fun. She's left a few people hanging though, I think her book and the EbiVision game that approximately 25 people won never got into the hands as promised. I hope she returns.

Until then, we'll have to rely on the reports that Zach looks great in a low cut black dress.

Visions of a Hirsute Robert Palmer Back-up Amazon come to mind...
