WWF Forceable Entry (new)

There's been next to no finds, since there's been next to no -sellers- at the local flea markets. Nobody's bringing anything of interest these days. :(

There's been next to no finds, since there's been next to no -sellers- at the local flea markets. Nobody's bringing anything of interest these days. :(

I was in a similiar dilemma with all my local flea markets. No matter which ones I went to, there was always the same 93-98% of sellers that are always there. With those kind of odds you aren't likely to see much new stuff. And that is why alittle more than a month ago I decided to stop hitting the flea markets on the weekends and have instead started going to yard sales instead. The community ones are better(since you get to browse more than one seller at a time) but I've even found some of the single ones to be worthwhile, espcially when they are video game themed and advertised as such.

It's not like that. These sellers buy stuff up North, come down here to sell as much as they can, and at the end of the day they sell everything as low as they can - or even dump it - since they can't take it back with them. So every week, there's new stuff. Very few sellers bring the same stuff back week after week (with new additions.)

The problem is, they're not getting any good stuff up North. It's like everything has already been picked out by other people... likely Goodwill themselves...

WWF Forceable Entry (new)
Wow... you'd think that with professional wrestling's reputation for homoeroticism, you think that they'd choose a different name that doesn't sound like music you'd play during a prison shower rape...

Anyhoo, all I picked up today was Resident Evil: Code Veronica and Tee Off for the Dreamcast, both $2 each. While I'm here in Louisiana, I'm trying to scoop up any decent Dreamcast games cheaply for my nephew who's dedicated to getting the console as soon as he finds a working one in the wild.

Found a couple of discounts for a local shop in my car console today, so I stopped in after work. Including discounts and tax, I picked up:

Lightening Force (Genesis) complete and mint
Thunder Force III (Genesis) complete and mint
Homefront (Xbox 360) - used, complete

Paid around $43 for the lot. Not bad.

Hey. I just found a Canadian French cart of Kirby's Adventure NES. Is this worth anything?

Didn't look closely at the label so it was a total curveball when I went to play. :eek 2:

Yeah, he's right. I'm not sure of the entire story behind the Canadian Kirby's Adventure but I think someone found like 20 cases of the darn things brand new not too long ago. I myself bought and still have a factory sealed copy I bought around 5 years ago for $16, and the auction I got it from the seller showed it with a stack of a dozen copies @_@

Yes. French text and intro. The front label's code is a correct "NES-K5-CAN-1".

Unfortunately, that code is the only way to tell a French and an English Canadian cart (English will have KR in the code).
(the French box had a large red and yellow warning message box on the front and back)

bought a pack of empty dvd cases at good will for a buck now i can replace some broken ones i got in my collection

also i bought Fox Sports NHL Championship 2000 Sealed for PS1 for 2 bucks.
Normally i would pass on a game like this cause not only is it a sports game but its generic sports game as apposed to something EA cooked up. But it was still sealed so what the hell why not

Today I came across a boxed version of Weird Dreams for the PC. I'm not sure what kind of paperwork came with it originally, but the registration form has been sent in, there's only the 'keep this for your records' stub left. I don't know anything about PC software, but I know that this was a pretty strange and cool game for its time so I coughed up the whole 50¢ for it. Anyone know if it's worth something?

Well, I do appreciate them and thank you for leaving them! I've had a couple of groupons for FX that I purchased back around Xmas and I've been in there once a week or so since then, looking for something to spend them on! Finally they had these games, plus a couple of DC games as well but those are way overpriced. Played ThunderForce for an hour of so last night and Homefront for a couple after the Mavericks game. Thunderforce is better. Homefront is not very good.

Yea, the Thunderforce series is great. Some of my favs for sure. I'm shocked you didn't grab the Mars Matrix he has. Unless you already have it that is, it was the last US DC shmup I needed and it took me a while to get a nice copy of it. A few months earlier and I'd have snapped that one up quick.

Great game, although generally the Amiga version is considered to be the best because of its music and graphics. It's not a particularly valuable game with complete copies going for $15-$20 and sealed for slightly more.

Total was $10. The PS1 games were stuck inside a CD spindle with a ton of burned PS1 games and silver bootleg games. They're kinda scratched, and well, there's those stickers - but they make good trade fodder. :)

got a huge haul today of various exciting things. As far as gaming a whole box of ps1 stuff, I was the first person into the electronic room at a rummage sale and grabbed it. There are about 30-35 games. 10 of those are longboxes. All games are complete and mint. 2 systems and a bunch of controllers as well. Nothing special in the games. The best thing in the lot is a big analog joystick controller and there is foot pedals with it as well. According to the rarity guide its an r5. Also grabbed mike tysons punch out loose for $1.

Thanks. I just bought it because I never managed to get anywhere on the Amiga version that I had... acquired... from various sources back in the day. I thought maybe the PC version might have a cult following or something.

Today I came across a copy of The Daedalus Encounter for the 3DO for $3.95, and a couple of Atari 7800 joysticks and an Atari 2600 stick, $1 each. The vendor at the flea market/junk shop had a whole box full of assorted Atari joysticks in various states of disrepair and filthiness, with some RF adapters and a power supply (missing the tip). I thought about making an offering for the whole box, but the terrible quality of many of them made me just buy the best quality/least scummy ones.

I'm driving out to Lafayette, LA tomorrow on a cross-country thrift hunt. Wish me luck! I'm hoping I'll find a little more than I have so far on this trip. At least Lafayette still has a Play N' Trade that hasn't closed down since the parent company sucks.

They had RC Pro Am 2, also, but wanted a little more than I was up for paying at at about $24.

Picked up all this off of CL. There was no room for negotiation since the woman selling them had many replies to the ad and I was the first to email her about them. Games there $5 each, N64 with 2 controllers and Exp. was $20. Game Boys were $5 each, Network Adapter was $5, GB games were $2 each. Spent $225 total so it wasn't a steal, but it wasn't a bad deal (at least I don't think it was)

SNES games

Breath of Fire 1 and 2
Joe & Mac 1 and 2
Super Mario World 1 and 2
Super Adventure Island II
Mario RPG
Super Bonk
Donkey Kong Country 2
Mario all Stars
Mario Kart
Zelda LttP
Illusion of Gaia
Earthbound (first time I have come across this in the wild)
Secret of Evermore
Mega Man X

The woman selling them had empty PS1 cases for Lunar Silver, Tactics Ogre, Tales of Destiny and Grandia (there were a few more than that but I can't remember the titles) She said if she finds the discs she will let me know. The PS1 game without the manual is Breath of Fire IV.

Box of Mostly N64 Games, N64 Extras - 6

Asked about video games at the very first sale Friday, brought out a box that included what's in the picture. I offered 5 for the whole box and was countered with 6.

Sega Genesis, NES Both With 2 Controllers & Hookups (Not Seen As It's In The NES Baseball Stars II) - 2
Warcraft III With Expansion - 1

Asked about video games at a sale early on and they brought out the N64, I looked it over and offered 5 for it. The NES & Genesis were out at a sale, the wires were wrapped about the NES so I could just barely open the lid and noticed Baseball Stars II. Asked and they wanted 2, this might be the dirtiest looking Genesis 2 I've ever seen. The Warcraft III games were at the last sale of the day and were asking price.

Yowzers! People have been finding some great stuff this month!

My finds are nothing compared to them:

Kirby's Epic Yarn for $27.99 (New) - One of my local Blockbuster Video stores is closing down. Everything was 50% off yesterday, so I grabbed Kirby because 1st party Wii games are expensive at full price.

Pandemonium! for $5.99 (PSN Download) - When I downloaded this yesterday, I noticed that I didn't have to pay tax on the purchase. Normally I do, so I'm wondering if it some sort of glitch.

Black Jack OVA: Trauma DVD (CIB, Used) - I picked this up while I was on vacation a few weeks ago.

I ventured out to Lafayette, Louisiana today to hit some game stores, Goodwills, and flea markets. Didn't find much. I did pick up a Japanese import of Nights Into Dreams... It's a Dream Paradox for the PS2 for $10 at a new game store in town, and at a sweltering hot flea market I bought Threshhold and Pooyan for the Atari 2600, loose, for $15.99 and $2.99, respectively.

Day started off rather lousy, a string of un-successful tag sales led to a yard sale that advertised lots of Super NES games and free beer, neither of which they had. Need to go back and burn their house with some combustible lemons. But things picked up once I headed off to the dirt mall.
http://i20.photobucket.com/albums/b235/joshnickerson/dpblog/Finds_06-2-11K.jpg
This was actually from a yard sale that I passed on the way, then for some reason decided to turn around and check it out. Pikachu N64, with Expansion Pak, Donkey Kong 64, Hey You Pikachu with microphone, and Powerpuff Girls (not pictured, forgot it in the car) for $20, which isn't bad since the expansion pak alone goes for about that. Tecmo Bowl was a buck.
http://i20.photobucket.com/albums/b235/joshnickerson/dpblog/Finds_06-2-11G.jpg
One table at the dirt mall had an assortment of $1 items, including these three items. I was assured by the little fat kid running the sale that the two Gameboys "worked just fine" but for the price, I was quite skeptical, but I figured for a buck, what the hell. And I was right. The GBC's speaker is kaput, the D-Pad is the only thing that works, and the battery compartment is corroded to hell. Attempting to open it I discovered the corrosion extended beyond the compartment. And by "attempting", I mean I could not get the circuit board removed from the unit because one of the screws was so corroded that the screw slots on top disentigrated. Awesome. I may need to drill it out, so any suggestions would be nice.
The brick Gameboy only has one problem, vertical lines, which I can probably fix later on, but I opened it up to find live bugs scurrying about. Awesome, and I just had these fucking things on my BED. I'm gonna find that fat kid and beat the shit out of him. Anyway, I stripped out the circuit board and screen, killed the bugs (hopefully all of them), and dumped the plastic bits in a bucket of hot water and soap and let them soak. Sadly, now I'm going to be paranoid about buying consoles from any yards sales or such. (and yes, I tried to open up the N64, but I don't have the right tool for it).
http://i20.photobucket.com/albums/b235/joshnickerson/dpblog/Finds_06-2-11H.jpg
Next table had a nice selection of GBA and GBC games for five bucks each. Minish Cap was a real steal for a mere five bucks, and everything is mint. Oh, and that Gameboy color game I also got for five bucks? Oh, it's nothing really, just a little game called...
http://i20.photobucket.com/albums/b235/joshnickerson/dpblog/Finds_06-2-11I.jpg
METAL GEAR SOLID: GHOST BABEL
I've been looking for that one for some time, but I didn't want to pay a lot for a bare copy off of eBay, so this was a great find for me.
Well, that's it for me. Thinking about those fucking Gameboy bugs makes me itchy all over... *shudder*... I'm gonna go take a shower...

So, I know a fellow who frequents garage sales, flea markets, and thrift stores, etc. and he brings me game related stuff. Usually he gives me a pretty good deal. Today he had the usual stuff; n64 controllers and common nes games, after digging through all that, I come across these and his asking price was $30cdn:

and......

All complete although Bio Hazard Battle's insert and manual are a little bit damaged

Nice score. It pains me that both the domestic and JPN import copy of M.U.S.H.A. go for a similar high price.

Nice finds. Transformers The Movie is getting more difficult to find now that it's out of print. I sold a copy of the 2-disc edition for $30 a few months ago.

Nothing fantastic but I stumbled upon a German Domino game that wanted me to take it home. It was free so I'm not complaining.

Well, I had some finds on Monday but didn't post them, and then I had no phone or internet access for all of yesterday. :( But I'm back and what a score of stuff I found today!

But anyway. From Monday:

http://i81.photobucket.com/albums/j238/foxhack/DP/dp-2011-06-06.jpg
$4 total. I wasn't going to buy that Land Before Time game until I read the back and noticed it was programmed by CE Digital Illusions. You might know them as EA DICE (http://www.dice.se/). Bwahahaha.

Today's finds:

No photo:
Quicken 2009 Deluxe complete in box = $1
TurboTax 2010 Deluxe = $2

http://i81.photobucket.com/albums/j238/foxhack/DP/dp-2011-06-08a.jpg
Two shareware CDs + the Friends V/A soundtrack for the crap pile: $1 each

http://i81.photobucket.com/albums/j238/foxhack/DP/dp-2011-06-08b.jpg
Streets of Rage 3 (no manual, hole on UPC) and Halo 2 Original Soundtrack CD = $5

http://i81.photobucket.com/albums/j238/foxhack/DP/dp-2011-06-08c.jpg
Sword of the Berzerk: Guts' Rage (Dreamcast) - $2.50
Silver (Dreamcast) - $2.50
Beavis and Butthead: Virtual Stupidity (PC) - $1

I already have all three. So I'm selling my doubles!

http://i81.photobucket.com/albums/j238/foxhack/DP/dp-2011-06-08d.jpg
Silent Hill 2 + Silent Hill 3 = $5 each
Karaoke Revolution = $2
Rock Band = $2
Office Home and Student 2010 = $8

That's my fourth 360 game, and I don't even own the system. Ha. The Silent Hill games are MINT. I'm thinking of keeping them, I dunno yet. I already have Karaoke Revolution so it's going up on eBay (or for trade).

Matrix Revolutions original soundtrack - $2
Gameshark Upgrade CD (from 2.x to 2.41) - $2
Hip Gear Game Terminal GBA cart case (2) - $2 for both

When I got to the flea market, one of the local resellers told me "Hey, there's this one booth with tons of CDs, you should check out what they have!" I went there and it turned out to be the crazy woman that was charging $5 for beat up soundtrack CDs a few months ago... but they were selling the CDs for $2 now, so I picked up that Matrix CD and that Gameshark Upgrade CD in case someone needed it. She still had most of the pre-Phil Collins Genesis stuff from back then, but as you guys probably noticed, I'm cutting down -a lot- on my CD purchases. Most of the stuff I wanted wasn't there anymore, anyway. :P

Those GBA cart cases are weird. They were from a booth with a truckload of VHS tapes (sadly, the ones I wanted were nowhere to be found, probably buried under more stuff...) but I saw these on the floor and picked 'em up. There's very little info on these on the internet. I figure, $2 for these cases isn't that bad so I grabbed 'em.

Hit one of my favorite thrifts yesterday at lunch and found a pretty good amount of gaming stuff:

Original Xbox, 2 controllers, all cables - $24.98 (passed on this)
Original Playstation, 1 controller, cables - $24.98 (passed as well)
Bag o' loose Genesis games, includes 8 EA sports titles only - $1.91 (passed)
Bag o' loose Intellivision games - about 15 games for $3.43 including:
Blockade Runner
Ice Trek
Q*Bert
Burgertime
LadyBug
Donkey Kong
B-17 Bomber
Bomb Squad
Space Spartans
Space Battle
Sea Battle
and quite a few more.

Saw the red Blockade Runner cart in the bag and bought the lot for that one game. Turns out I also needed Ice Trek, LadyBug, as well. The others will be going with me to OVGE next weekend!

Tron's an excellent movie so I'd say yes if you are going to watch it.

Pricewise, Last summer the VHS was going for $30+. Now it goes for welp, about a dollar due to the Blu-Ray Re-release.

I found a copy of the DVD version of Claw today for a buck. The disc is super scratched, but I'm glad to have found the DVD version. (I got the CD version for free a bit ago.)

This week was a good week for finds :)

http://i9.photobucket.com/albums/a54/Zamioa/061a82e5.jpg

-God of War: Ghost of Sparta ~ $10 (Brand new)
-Xenosaga III ~ $4
-Wild Arms: Alter Code F ~ $4

I was checking out Walmart for some school supplies and decided to stop by the video game clearance section and found God of War: GoS in the sea of old Madden games and Justin Bieber stuff xD I'm surprised that it has dropped down to $10 so quickly but it was worth a buy for me

As for Xenosaga III and Wild Arms: ACF, I found them at a yard sale earlier this week and couldn't resist since they were priced just right and I was looking for them for quite a while. Some guy who was looking at the games next to me gave an odd look the moment I grabbed those games though.

Here's what I picked up today.
Highlights includes Final Fantasy 7 guide, NES version GBA SP, and boxed Genesis.
The best thing of all though, I didn't realize I had even bought until I took this picture.
Inside the GBA case was a NFR version of Link to the Past GBA. SCORE!

In total, I think I spent about $60

TMNT 3: Mutant Nightmares (Complete, GC) - 1
Xbox Live Arcade (No Manual) - 1
NES Zapper - .10
SNES With Hookups, 3 Controllers & 21 Games - 10

GameCube game was marked 1.50 but took a buck. Xbox Live Arcade was asking price. Zapper was in a box of stuff that was .10 each. Saw a sign for a sale that wasen't advertised, asked about older games and the SNES stuff was brought out. Lady asked if 10 for everything was ok when I asked how much and I didn't feel like even trying to get it for less after they were nice enough to go inside and round it up.

Pole Position Board Game (Almost Complete) - .50
GBP & GBC Systems - 1.50
Crash Team Racing (Complete) - 1

Asked about games at the first sale and in some boxes with a tarp over them were 2 Game Boys. Offered a buck for both of them and the seller said he was thinking a buck each and I suggested we meet in the middle. Crash Team Racing was the lone PS1 game at a sale, offered a buck for it. Board game was asking price.

Not sure if I want to keep it. I have a smallish collection of lunchboxes, but I'm running out of room for them.

Electronics Flea Market was pretty quiet today, most rows only had a few people and the back two were almost totally empty. Kinda sucks for SPECS (http://www.specsnet.org/), who was hosting this month, as this is their only fundraiser this year. Did find a couple interesting things though.

http://www.classicplastic.net/digitalpress/finds/DP-Finds-2011-06-11%2801%29.jpg

Speakers were $5.00 (the other one came with it as well) and put out good sound. It'll be disassembled and used to replace the cheap audio amp (after I blew out the good one rewiring some stuff) in my MAME cabinet. I'm probably also going to change the speaker over as well since, again, I think I may have blown it out that time before.

LodgeNet N64 controller was $3.00 - I don't want this but I know they're pretty uncommon in the wild. If anyone has interest, PM me.

Tomy Hit and Missile game was $5.00 and a gamble from a seller I really don't like. However it was clean and the battery compartment didn't have any damage so I went ahead and bought it. It seemed to work fine at first but you had to keep the fire button held down or your missile would stop during its ascent. I found a spring on the floor of my apartment a few minutes later and figured that had to be the issue. So I opened it up and found that, yes, a spring clip had broken away due to age. After observing how the game operated I found an alternate location for the spring. Turns out it was also missing another spring that would provide tension on the score counter assembly, so I put one in. Oiled all the gearing and it's working great.

I love these old mechanical games. Also picked up a few phono to type-F adapters for $1.00 each as I finally ran out after selling excess Atari consoles.
