Good show! I really like it.
Aside from compliments, the only feedback I have would be...
I ended up with a couple unresolved questions. First, you mentioned that the cart version sold a ton of copies but I actually would have liked to have known exactly(isn) how many it sold. Secondly, you explained why Sega needed Spiderman but you didn't say where that info came from. I followed your logic but I'm not clear on whether or not you have seen any documented evidence (like interviews, etc.) to back your conclusion up. Lastly, after you explained why Sega wanted Spiderman, you never tied that up by telling us how it worked out for them, aside form selling a lot of copies. Did it seem to lead to an increase in console sales or maybe help develop a relationship between Sega and Marvel?
Those are just the questions I was left with. I really did enjoy the show and I'm looking forward to the next episode. Excellent work. I liked the grid background, too...it made me wonder what you could do with a weatherman style dynamic background...like, maybe have the footage playing back there while you're pointing things out. lol.
Great job, dude. Thanks for posting it.
Thanks for the constructive review of the episode Dep! I really will take that all into consideration... making sure I make my points clearly. In all honesty, I had recorded a mention of the Relationship strengthening between Sega and Marvel and this game leading to the X-Men franchise, but I cut it out due to time.
Haha! Yes, that's a good idea about pointing to actually gameplay on screen. Noted my friend. :)

The black grid background is fine for genesis games but when you talk about other systems you should change it to match. White grid for master/Blue stripes for Sega CD ...... etc.

That's actually something I thought of once it was all done. Thanks for pointing that out. Will be done in the next episode for sure!

I know it was deliberate, that I had no doubt which is why I said bait and switch. If someone is just on youtube and they type in Sega Channel your stuff will pop up and it won't be what they're after if they want to see the Sega Channel. So the bait is the name, and the switch is your production which isn't Sega Channel. Sorry if the wording is harsh, but it fits. :)
It's like that old Coming to America movie with Eddie Murphy. McDonald's with the golden arches, and McDowells with the golden arcs.

LOL I see your point and intent a little clearer now. It was never my motivation for naming the show The SEGA Channel, but those who stumble upon it by those means will hopefully enjoy the vids!

This is a content ID claim by SEGA just waiting to happen, particularly because of the channel's name.

I don't know about that... SEGA has endorsed one of my videos in the past on their twitter and facebook page. It was that Christmas with SEGA video I put together around the holidays that went viral. They also promoted my website in their tweets about said video. Granted, that video was mostly home movie footage.
I'm not monetizing these videos, which hopefully plays in my favor.

Yeah, Sega is not Nintendo. Nintendo would send him a strongly worded C&D letter. Sega on the other hand is more likely to promote this.

I liked the video and I like The Sega Channel name. Instead of having a large amount of Genesis games available to play whenever you want, you have a large amount of Sega videos. It's a pretty clever name even if you didn't realize you were using the products name. I'm sure you remember the product, I just think you may not have thought about it when you were thinking of this name. Atleast going by what you said in the quote.

Nah, as Dep pointed out, I knew what SEGA Channel was going into this. The name is an homage to that awesome service from the 90's. What I didn't think about was the idea of tricking people... that was never my agenda! Glad you liked it!

Unless you're reviewing retro Shining games, then they'll just scream copyright infrigement to youtube and get your account suspended.

Awesome show!!! I think it flows really nicely.
I don't think you really have to get bogged down in minutia/details.
I think your style of telling us your personal opinion and thoughts is fun and entertaining enough.
I could never get into Sega CD-Spider man because I had no idea where to even start looking for the villains. And the game is timed I believe.
Your video makes me want to give the game a second chance.

So on my show I've been doing an ABCs of Retro Gaming Series where go through the alphabet one letter at a time and review a game, good or bad, that begins with that letter. For A I reviewed Aladdin (Gen), for B it was Blackthorne (32X) and I just released C which was Castle of Illusion Starring Mickey Mouse (Gen):

So here is my channel. I began earlier this year doing gameplay and pickup videos, learning a little bit about this whole video-making thing along the way. Recently I have made my first two video reviews 1) Macross: Scrambled Valkyrie for SFC and 2) Macross: Do You Remeber Love for Saturn. I'm really enjoying it, but still working at finding my footing on this whole review thing. Also, I upload the pickup vids every two weeks; mid-way through the month and at the end/beginning of every month.
I try to keep the pickup vids in the neighborhood of 5 minutes long. The two review vids are 5 minutes as well, with 4-6 mins being the range I want to stay in for upcoming reviews.
I'm open to feedback, so feel free to hit me up and give me some pointers and advice. :help:

I might be doing more gameplay videos in the future. However my old PC has the capture card in it while I need a new capture device for my newer PC and I would like to have commentary on my gameplay videos in the future.

Its not like im going to be posting a bunch of topics, this was just a one time thing, no need for my topic to be merged in that......... Are you even a moderator? I mean jeez.......... I have been here a long time, many many years.

Considering how dead this forum is these days, I think it is better to start a new topic. I could see consolidating all the video threads into one thread if they were taking over the board, but I do not think we have to worry about.

I like your channel, even though I'm not a big Jaguar guy. The wildlife videos are cool, too what part of the US you in?

I don't think I need to be a moderator to ask something simple of you. It wasn't a demand, it was a request.

So you should know how the general active userbase likes things, yes? We generally agree that a clean forum is a happy forum.

Thanks! Yep I also love wildlife, birds etc. I am in Fairfield, CA. It's between San Francisco and Sacramento, 45 minute drive to either. And a 15 minute drive to Napa as well. Nice area, but too hot in the summer. For instance, if it's 95 in Fairfield, it's 65 in San Francisco. O_o

Do the cat and her kittens come indoors at all, or are they mainly outdoor types?

I'd love to see Rebellion remake Alien vs. Predator someday (Along with an original mode with dual stick control like several other mid 90's first person shooting classics have received in recent years).
Excellent game, but it can be a bit tough for newcomers to get into today and the last I looked, this one was going for more than the latest PS4/XB1 game does just for a used copy. Toss in their well liked 1999 PC game of the same title (Which deserves a console conversion) and it would be quite a package.
Deserves more attention.

I moved to a new house 9 months ago. This really pretty cat starting coming around, a stray, shes young like probably 2. Anyway, I started feeding her. then she got really fat, thought I was feeding her too much, stopped feeding her, then she had kittens days later in my front yard, lol. Just in the last week or 2 the mom cat and 1 kitten let me pet them and they like it. Its pretty cool, cats went from totally wild ferel to trusting me to pet them. They are in my backyard all the time and sometimes front, never in the house.

Hey Jason :) Its ok could be better, girl of my dreams dumped me, so that's fun. thanks for the compliment

I think they were working on AvP CD. Maybe it was AvP with better framerate and some touchups.

Hey guys! So I started a series like this back on SegaMasterSystem.com with our "Space Harrier VS 3D World Runner" video. We're taking some time with the next standard Sega Channel "documentary style" vid (really just trying to find the time to get some friends to guest on the show). In the meantime I thought it would be cool to expand our focus a little.
I've always enjoyed reviewing a SEGA game against a game from the different console. For this one I tried not to go with your typical pick.

The video has a more "Watch Mojo" style format and is written out in script form and then narrated entirely. Hope you guys find it entertaining! Thanks for all the support.
