hey everyone,
instead of making topics everytime we release a new video I think it's easier to make a single topic with all videos :)

I skimmed the selection of videos you uploaded and watched a handful.
So, your "Playstation Collecting.com" videos so far are just unboxings, you and other people showing your collections, and uploads of old PSX commercials?

you make it sound like you're missing something essential?
It's a very lazy selection of material that you've produced (not only in type but execution), and having it under the umbrella of the PlayStation Collecting channel makes it sound like users should expect something more significant, original or interesting than what you're presenting. Items you label as "reviews," such as the Enslaved presskit are barely that; you didn't even show any footage of the discs being played. These are all videos that random Youtube users do a better job of producing on a daily basis, and with much less self fanfare.
I suppose I was expecting more real PSX collecting information; perhaps something akin to a YouTube version of Dangerboy's PSX collecting site, as opposed to another "Oh, look at this crap I bought." channel.

well thats you're opinion and you're entitled to it :) I've had a lot of positive reactions on the channel, but it's always good to hear a different sound.
As it is about collecting, I show the items not the gameplay.. since personally I'm not interested in the gameplay of most games.
And about the fanfare, I'm just notifying and trying to spread the word. Not telling you it's the greatest thing ever made, just getting the word out for those who are interested :)

Quit spamming every forum out there with your vids. I am all about promoting up and coming sites, but this self promoting is getting a bit old, especially when the content is so weak and poorly orchestrated. I am not trying to rain on your parade, but taking the advice of some of your viewers may help you out in the long run.
Best of luck with your website.

the ones that you got with magazines or the ones you got with games (for instance FF8 demo with FF7 platinum version)

Since this topic is about our Youtube channel, i'm posting when there is new content, yes this is promotion and yes it is on multipe fora. But if you're not interested, why click the topics? Or if you're interested and see it on multiple fora, just read one?
About the quality of the content, I'm sorry that you don't like it and I take your critique at heart.
The big majority of reactions is very positive, but I have to agree that the videos I personally made are far from professional, but it is neither my intention nor goal to be a professional Youtube reviewer. I do try to improve tho ;)
But again, I take your critique seriously and I realise that (because of a lack of time) I'm not spending enough time in the communities and just making advertisements for the site

Not the magazine demos but the more uncommon ones like demos you got for preordering certain games or ones that were only available at certain locations. Actually, I suppose it doesn't matter as long as it isn't just the magazine demos because those are dirt common.

If you're not willing to invest a ton of editing and writing time in the videos, at least do a few things that will greatly improve the quality and only take a small initial investment in time:
Create a quick opening video sequence telling people what the channel or videos are about, and paste that at the beginning of each. Possibly create a few different ones for each video type.
Use brighter lighting when recording, and correct the white balance on your camera. Get an external mic if you can afford it (which I'm sure you can, judging by all the stuff you buy)
Try not to sound like a thug when talking to the camera. Omit as much slang as possible.
Write a quick script (at least mentally) for what you intend to say. Structure it better so it's not just, "look at what I bought off ebay, it's really cool, okay thanks bai." If a video isn't at least a couple minutes long, make it a combined video with another item.
Put more freakin' effort into these, or stop promoting them like they're this big deal. There's enough quality youtube video makers out there already that there's little reason for anyone to watch these in particular. Give people a reason.

I'd like to do that, or atleast ask someone to make that :)

i thought the lighting of the later videos was a lot better then the early ones, using all the lights i have available. But since i'm recording with a photocamera the quality isn't HD (or close)
Try not to sound like a thug when talking to the camera. Omit as much slang as possible.
hehe this made me laugh :D as you can judge by my accent i'm no natural speaker and my vocabulary comes mainly from games and movies.
Write a quick script (at least mentally) for what you intend to say. Structure it better so it's not just, "look at what I bought off ebay, it's really cool, okay thanks bai." If a video isn't at least a couple minutes long, make it a combined video with another item.
I do the mental script thing, I think about what I wanna say and if i mess up I start over :) but yeah i could add more items to make the videos a bit longer

I'm actually putting effort in these, but next to my full time study, job and girfriend I don't have the time to create epic presentations.. but I'm very happy with the critique and will take it at heart :)
First of all, thanks for the advice. I'm no professional, nor do i intend to be, so any help to improve the quality is always welcome!
I realise that the promotion was a little too much, making it look spam, which wasnt my intention.

Sat through the entire thing ( I know you more for your PCE videos on Youtube), a whole lot of boxes there, but IMO some of the worst box art was the unlicensed stuff not from Tengen. Overall good presentation, shame you had to rush it a bit near the end due to work, but it's understandable..

About how NES Open Golf has Mario on the cover. "Why didn't they just call it Mario Golf"?
It actually was called Mario Open Golf in Japan.
Not surprised about the Sachen art, their games themselves were really lame ripoffs of popular games. (and the only ones I found decent, Super Pang and Gaiapolis didn't even bother to change the title of the game having its copyrights infringed on. :P ) So it fits you get awful box art for awful games.

I was a little rough there and maybe saying slut was a bit much but she only made that channel to leech money from video game fans out there and she barely even knows what she's playing half the time. If you ever watch her gaming videos (God help you) she's making money from basically turning the game on and making fun of the game for about a hour. Again, I don't wanna twist your arm or nothing to watch my nuttie show but her gaming channel is just a joke.

You're probably right about her show being less than great (I've never watched it) but how do you figure she's doing anything 'wrong', or worthy of insulting her the way that you did? I mean, honestly, if she's sponsored or whatever (which I suppose is what you mean by making money off of gamers), what's wrong with that exactly? It's not like she's ripping anyone off or anything (like Sadie/Ultraneko did, arguably), and if people enjoy her content, and freely subscribe, who's she hurting? The whole thing just read like someone who was envious of another person's high volume channel. I'm not saying that that's the case, but it sure seems that way.
In any event, I'm sure it's long since blown over, and I don't want it to make a bigger issue than it is, but the community that you're targeting may be a more diverse than you realize, and you could be alienating potential and existing viewers with that sort of harsh misogynistic rant.
With that said, you have a very nice collection, and your artwork is pretty cool, too. I hope you showcase more of it on your channel.

My problem is that when I did that video iJustineGaming had no gaming videos on her new page and it was like that for about a month, it was actually her 5th channel so she's only making these new channels to milk money out of her own fans, and finally it's sad to see Youtube partner a talentless hack pretending to be a gamer on the spot while other more indepth gaming channels make nothing like AVGN for example.
Still I can see your point and don't wanna be one of those whiny haters that's always bashing on people all the time. Thanks for watching my work though and that was so far a one time only rant on her.

Now that this is a generalized gaming video thread, I figured I'd post this here.
This is a long winded video (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ng70_xRDTuI) of me rambling and attempting to explain how to play Densha de Go! (for those unfamiliar with the game or as unfamiliar with the Japanese language as I am) on the fly.
Didn't intended for it to be considered a big production or anything, just an on the spot video tutorial. Camera at the screen, game on. Skip to 6:45 if you want to jump over my somewhat accurate interpretation of the history of Densha de Go and basic introduction to railroad signaling and get right to the game.

That's really weird considering some of the people who are. I've watched a few more of your videos since you've responded and I'm happy to see that the rant was an isolated thing. I appreciate you being pleasant about the whole (iJustine) thing; I was worried that you might get overly defensive when I offered my thoughts on it.
In any event, I was really wondering about something you said a few times. I'm not trying to rehash the iJustine thing (really), but I was wondering what you meant when you said that she was "milking money out of fans". How does she, or anyone on youtube, do this, exactly? I've never paid a dime to watch any youtube content, nor have I been charged anything to subscribe to any channels. So then, how is it possible for anyone on youtube to "milk money from fans/viewers?"
AFAIK, Ultraneko actually asked for donations which were supposed to go towards her show, but she ended up taking the money and running. Did this Justine girl do the same sort of thing?
I'll put the whole iJustine matter to rest now. Thanks again for keeping it civil. :)

I didn't realize that The AVGN wasn't partnered with youtube.
:)No problem there, it's a strange situation and all. She likes to make all these new channels where she sends or commands her fans to a new page in order get money from her new ads. It was pretty clear this time she only made a gaming channel cause is was a popular subject and not because she's serious about it. Yeah, I kinda look like a badguy in the video I did and maybe the choice of words were a bit too extreme but I wasn't the only one upset that she earned a instant partnership program to earn cash when others like us wait years or never get the ability to make a dime despite knowing more about the subject matter. She also likes to beg for subscribers, comments, and ratings every chance she gets which is similar to what Ultraneko did there. Normally I'd let iJustine reply to these comments but she wouldn't give us any of us the time of day. Yeah, I could have whined and cried here to get my point across I guess but maybe it was the name Emperor Megas itself (from Valis II for the Turbografx-16 CD 1990 of course) that made me mark out.

OK, instead of another playthrough and that junk I decided to do a quick lookthrough video of my TG collection and see some of those awesome (and not so awesome) cover arts. I don't know who they hired to commission some of these works but a lot of them are just awful.

Making a sticky topic for video reviews? That's a little unnecessary.
I can understand having a thread for room videos and game demos, but reviews (at least in my experience) take a lot of time and effort to make and deserve their own thread for independent discussion.

So I like to make gameplay videos and put them on YouTube. As I'm sure many others do to. :) It's a good excuse to dust off some old favorite games. I feel like I am playing for an audience so it's more fun for me to play games while recording. :) So anyways, maybe other people could share their videos here too. Here's some Tekken 1 Playstation vids from me. :)

I've actually been recording the gameplay footage of every game I've played by myself this year via my PC using a capture card and on-board audio because the capture card's audio sucks. My first 1.8TB hard drive is almost full.
Tekken 1 is in there too. I have to say it's one of the hardest fighting games I've ever beaten. For my first playthrough I used Kazuya, which is funny because in Tekken 2's instruction book it names him the victor of Tekken 1. I should try beating it again as someone else.

So I guess I can ask a question about the rules here, eh? :p
If I post a video and would like constructive criticism on it, am I allowed to create a thread for it?
If I post a video and would like constructive criticism on it, am I allowed to create a thread for it?
All video comments should be in here unless the conversation goes on for too long. Like if you get more than ten comments on the same video, then it gets its own thread.
Here is a fun video of a sampling of the over 1000 "space invaders" shown in the public spaces of Paris. It's like... graffiti with mosaic tiles. There are ones reminiscent of Space Invaders or inspired by it but also other video games. See if you can name them all!
