I just picked this lot up tonight and was wondering what it was worth:

The grey one is in the best shape whereas both the black and the blue ones have scratches on their screens. None of the watch batteries work. The Last Blade game is EU version and missing the manual. I was told one of the games was Japanese, but I don't see any Japanese releases here. Also the "mystery game" whose name is cut off is Card Fighters Clash. (The hard to read ones are King of Fighters R2.) Does anyone know what this stuff is worth? (Also, if anyone's interested, I'm selling.)

The NGPC systems just need CR2032's. Those batteries are pretty damn cheap and it takes a few seconds to replace them. Though i'd just take them out until you sell them as they have the tendency to blow up after a few years.
None of the games are the Japanese versions. Gals is the money game in that pile. I'd say 20-30 minimum.
You could get 40-60 per system (or more), depending on the day and the wind. I've been watching boxed units slowly climb back up in value the last year or so.
Are your boxed systems complete? Manuals and all that good stuff? There should be something like 3 or 4 colored manuals inside each system. From the pic, it looks like you've got a DC Burst Silver unit, and No burst Blue and Anthracite systems. (Flip the units over, the later released units have a starburst on the back talking about their compatability with the DC). This won't add any value, but the No Burst units were released first. I still need a Burst Blue unit, so if for some reason it is a Burst one, I'd be interested if it's got all its papers.
The NGPC is an awesome little system. It's worth keeping one if you don't already have one. The games are all pretty good. Gals is an all girls fighter, and Match of Millennium and KoF R2 are just solid fighters as is Last Blade. CardFighters Clash is fun if you're a fan of CCG type games. You've got the SNK version (there's a Capcom version as well).
Old pics, but I love me my NGPC http://s90.photobucket.com/albums/k252/PapaStu/NGPC/

By the way, mobiusclimber, love the photo. Almost looks like it was lit by moonlight.

Check the carts. The packaging may be for the US (besides Last Blade, of course), but I have received "complete" US games that actually had European carts on the inside. If you were told that one was Japanese, look for the ESRB rating on each cart. If it's missing, you got either a Japanese or European version (the games will play in English based on the system's settings, regardless).

I did check the carts before posting. Only one w/o ESRB was Last Blade. That one doesn't have anything (no EU rating like on the back of the box, no Japanese rating).
As near as I can tell none of the systems have that starburst DC thing, but the anthricite system has a couple of anime stickers on the back (Evangelion, so that decreases the value even more, LOL). Also the anthricite doesn't have paperwork, but the other two have a big stack of it. Finally, both the anthricite and the blue have torn system holders (the cardboard piece that holds the system in place. The black's one is worse, whereas the blue one is just torn on the side b/c someone got sick of pulling the holder out and putting it back in.
Oh and thanks for the compliment on the photo but I didn't take it. It was stolen from the Craigslist ad I bought this off of.
Also (this is edit #2), nice collection Stu. I have my own (bare) NGPC system and one game for it. I basically got it so I could justify owning the EU version of Evolution for it, and play the couple of other English-language RPGs on the system (besides the few Japanese games I'm interested in). I'm not a big fighting fan, so I think like half of the library doesn't appeal to me at all. I tried out a couple of the games last night when I tested the systems and I just kept getting my ass kicked. LOL. Tho it looks like one of the games has some Darkstalkers characters in it? (I played against BB Hood.) So I might need to look into that.

There are some really good non-fighters, non-RPGs in the library too. You might want to try Sonic and the Metal Slug games, and if you like puzzle games, Bust-a-Move, Magical Drop, Puyo Pop, and both Puzzle Link games are all solid. Really, every game in the US library is good. Even the gambling games are good for what they are.

I think I have three games for the system right now: Sonic, Dive Alert and Faselie. I'm trying not to get to the point where I want to start collecting a lot of the non-RPG stuff tho b/c I only want boxed games (none of the three I have now have boxes, but dammit, they need them). NGPC just seems a lot harder to find boxed games for than other systems, for some reason.

Well, if you're sticking with US versions, you don't have to worry about Faselei at least since, like Last Blade, it has no US packaging. Those two games never got an official US release, but the resellers managed to acquire them wholesale somehow. They were just about to be released in the US right when SNK pulled the plug on the NGPC here, so the assumption is that the full print run of carts were manufactured but none of the paper materials were ever printed.
If you still want packaging for Faselei, though, there's the European version, but I think you'd have to pay through the teeth for that, if I remember its value correctly.

Yes, I still need boxes, regardless of if they are US, EU or Japanese. I'll likely be trying for EU where those exist. But like I said, I'm not at the point where collecting for the NGPC is a priority, so I'm not worried about it the same way I am when it comes to finding the box for EVO: Search for Eden or Crusader of Centy (I know, not the same price-wise but both are expensive for boxes and both are on the top of my list right now).
But thanks for the info as I don't think I'd have realized that game cib was worth a lot of money.

Thanks for the comments. I finished this system a few years ago. Since then i've gone and hunted down the system box variants (just need a Burst blue and a non burst something else) and picked up some of the weird variants for the early clamshell US releases. I still havn't decided on the whole NGP set or not (and all 5 of the games), since there has been talk of it getting a US release. I'm sure at some point i'll end up doing that once I get the last system boxes and or stumble into other clamshell US releases.
Collecting the system isn't too difficult (if we're talking US). 32 games, 30 w/ box & manual. I only had problems getting Magical Drop Pocket. It took me a few years of on again / off again looking to get one (I got two copies within a week actually). I think that Aussie had problems getting ahold of Pocket Tennis or Neo Turf Masters if memory serves.
The reason complete games are hard to get is due in part to the massive number of games that were sold in those blister packs after the system (and SNK USA) went under. The resellers dumped all the boxes and manuals and put them in those 4 game or 6 game + system blisters and sold them to all kinds of retail establishments (hell I even remember the Discovery Channel stores carrying them).
The bursts are actually easy to tell even if the stickers are off of the box. The orange of the box is noticably different. While the launch units have a fairly solid light orange on the box, the ones w/ burst have a noricably darker orange top/bottom. There are also some differnet copyright dates and logos on the back, but the colors just stand out.
Burst is in the middle of the bottom of the box.

Burst is on left, no burst on right. You can see the color change pretty easily.

Oh, on the back of the box! Yes, the Platinum Silver one is burst, the other two aren't. And now that you point it out, the gradation from orange to yellow and back is much easier to see on the burst box.
As for collecting, I'm sure it's not that tough, just a bit more expensive than I go for. I doubt I'll be finding most of the stuff I'd want "in the wild" at least not in the condition I'd want. But I seem to have a lot of luck w/ that so who knows?

If you're interested in selling the Silver I do need to replace mine (as you can see, it does have a rip on the box). Heck i'd even trade you boxes plus toss some $$ your direction if you'd like.

I think Turf Masters was one of the later US CIB copies I picked up, but beyond that, I don't remember having much trouble with those. Magical Drop was a pain for me like everybody else, and Puyo Pop was tricky too, to a lesser extent. I'd say those are the hardest of the US set.
I still haven't bothered to completely finish my set. My CIB Neo Cherry Master actually has a Euro cart that needs replacing, and even though I've had something like 3 or 4 copies of Sonic, I still need to get a CIB copy.

Shoot me a PM with an offer. I'm trying to sell this as a bundle right now but if I don't get any offers in the next couple days I'll split it up. (Got a buddy who's interested in one of the systems.)
