I just picked up Sonic the Hedgehog's Gameworld for the Pico this past weekend at a local tag sale and was just wondering what the value of it is nowadays. I can't find any current or past eBay listings on it so any help would be greatly appreciated!

god one of the "what were they thinking" kinda machines

It was a kid's educational toy. It wasn't intended to be a gaming platform like the Genesis was.
Look at all those Leapfrog products these days, they didn't start out that different from the Pico. Sega just took the risk at the wrong time.

The Pico was successful in Japan, they produced games for it from 1993 until 2005. That's pretty good for any type of system.
As for value, it really depends on the game but some are worth some money. I think Sonic the Hedgehog's Gameworld is worth around $20 or so loose, I'm not 100% sure though as I sold off most of my Pico stuff years ago and haven't kept track of values lately. All I have left are a few Japanese games which aren't really that valuable.

Yup, much more diverse titles in Japan as well. I have Japanese Pico games that have additional peripherals that plug into specific storyware - a keyboard and a fishing controller. The Japanese hardware is also better built, although there are a couple different models.
Sega should have advertised / sold the Pico under an alternate division / name to separate it from their gaming offerings.

not sure it's even worth the match to burn

Hmmm....I expected most of these responses actually, considering how there is almost no demand for Pico stuff. Oh well, perhaps I'll just keep it then and add it to my Sega Pico collection. Or I should just sell all my Pico stuff. I'm thinking option two looks like the better idea as I haven't touched that thing in 10 years or so haha.
