I know I'll probably get 50 different answers on this, but what is the best way to clean an LCD computer monitor? After being extremely careful to never touch mine, a friend of mine got some fingerprints on it. It's a 17" Apple Cinema Display monitor, and I'm not gonna break out the Brawny Paper Towels and Windex for that. I went to three different places (incl. Radio Shack) and NONE of them sold any such cleaning products. The last guy told me that there is no good answer and nobody wants to make a commitment to sell a product that may damage their monitor. He suggested the best way to clean it is simply with a clean, damp cloth. What do any of you think? Sound OK?

I'm pretty sure you can find LCD cleaner somewhere. I've heard that alcohol is a bad idea, as it can screw up the plastic coating, but I'm not sure how much truth there is to that. If you're feeling really paranoid, get a lint free eyeglass cleaning cloth, and just buff it with that.

Definitely use the specialized wipes. I used to clean a Vaio LCD with a wet (H20) cloth until I noticed I was creating streaks that never came out! :/

Those work AWESOME. I bought some for my laptop at the Apple store in NYC and they work wonders.

I've got some small wipes that are damp with something thats probably not water that used to clean camera lenses, do you think this would work?
