I bought a bunch of games from blockbluster. All of them came in the ugly rental cases. So I need replace with real PS3 cases.
Where can I buy cases without buying online?

I don't know for sure but I purchased brand new xbox 360 cases at best buy a few months ago. There is a chance that company may make ps3 cases too. The company is Rocketfish Gaming.

They're not on Best Buy.com, so that might be a crapshoot. I think all we ever got was 360, Wii, and standard Blue Blu-Ray.

The games you purchased didn't come with the cases? I know that at the Blockbuster where I live at, for game rentals it has the video game case and then a box behind it as a placeholder which you were to bring the placeholder box up front to rent the game.
I'm not sure if they still do this, but I think that all movies and games come in the original packaging but without being sealed. The employees have to swap them out for the Blockbuster specific cases.
You could always go to your Blockbuster and question them about that. If they're going to throw away a bunch of PS3 cases then I'm sure they'd just let you have some since you bought the game from there. You'd just have to wait until the next game release that they're likely to get. So question them about it and then see when the next big game release is for the PS3 where they're more than likely going to get a lot of copies.

I would go back and ask if they have any extras.
If they don't then look for any that are closing, I have picked up about 40 360 cases by doing that.

I'm pretty sure they don't do that anymore. The games I rented from them were in their actual cases with a rental sticker on the front of the case, which was taken to the counter and the game was placed inside to take home. The placeholders on the shelf for rented titles was a printed sign.
OP, if you do find an outlet on these, do post about it, as I'm sure it would be beneficial to many.

You can easily find appropriate size/shaped clear PS3 style Blu-Ray cases in bulk online with a bit of Googling and/or eBaying.
I saw a few listings for 25 cases for around $10.
Any particular reason why there's resistance to buy online? This isn't the type of thing that brick/mortar retail outlets specialize in.

i might have to buy online.
i went to an EB and asked if they sell cases. the fucking idiot guy gave me a straight up NO in a stuck up way and told me to go to the dollar store and buy a jewel case in a snickering voice. what an asshole. i wanted to punch him in the face.

And you didn't rip him a new one? I would have given him hell for that.

Your best bet is to just buy a bunch of generic blu ray cases. Finding ones that say "PlayStation 3" might be an issue.

While there is no reason for him to be a dick about it (chalk it up to bad customer service), if it's not common knowledge - GameStop doesn't sell used game cases unless you're buying the used game that the case belongs to.
I'm sure it's a question that they get on a semi-regular basis ... and since it's not inventoried merchandise in the POS, they couldn't sell it to you even if they wanted to.
Like I said, this isn't merch that you're going to have an easy time finding at any traditional brick/mortar stores but you'll have a way easy time finding in bulk online at a reasonable rate.
Unfortunately, you'll probably have to do without the raised "Playstation" logo on the case, but if the games are shelved they won't stand out.
Here's just one example of a google search for "clear PS3 game cases"
50 cases for $12.99
