View Full Version : Xbox 360 Exclusives - What's Worth Playing?

With the Wii U on the horizon, and Microsoft's press conference offering me absolutely nothing of interest (except the novelty of Minecraft on a console...), I've made the decision to eventually sell my 360. Before I do that, however, I have just a few games in my backlog, and I'd like to see what the console has to offer before I leave it behind. I use my PS3 all the time, and my Wii occasionally, but my 360 just sits there. I also have no desire to pay for Live. It just hasn't been a fun console for me.

What 360 exclusives are really worth checking out? Before you say anything, I don't care for Halo or Fable. I'm more into JRPGs, quirky games, anything that stands out.

Games In My Backlog:
-Blue Dragon
-Infinite Undiscovery
-Star Ocean: The Last Hope

Games I've Finished:
-Lost Odyssey
-Mirror's Edge
-Assassin's Creed
-Beautiful Katamari
-Breath of Death VII

Games I've Owned and Didn't Care For:
-Project Sylpheed
-Chromehounds
-Prey
-WarTech: Senko no Ronde
-Forza 2/Marvel Ultimate Alliance
-Dead Rising

Games I'm Already Considering:
-Limbo
-Guilty Gear 2: Overture
-Earth Defense Force 2017

Here's (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_video_games_exclusives_%28seventh_generati on%29#Microsoft_Xbox_360) a list of exclusives, not sure how complete it is though.

I enjoyed Gears of War 1 and 2 story, single player or co-op either one. I hated the multiplayer though, so I don't think you will miss anything there.

Mass Effect 1 was fantastic. I know you can get Mass Effect 2 on the PS3 now, so you should definitely play this one before you sell.

Alan Wake was a very different, but very awesome game.

Left 4 Dead 1 and 2 were great. The online gameplay was fun, but repetitive so going story mode only should be sufficient.

From that list of exclusives, I've really enjoyed:

Bullet Witch
Crackdown
Deathsmiles - a fun bullet-hell shooter
Earth Defense Force - silly but addicting as heck
Forza racing games
Gears of War 1 and 2
Halo (all)
Onechanbara - come on, bikinis and zombies? a true winner!
PGR Racing
Perfect Dark Zero

PDZero was one of the launch titles that kept me busy while other stuff was coming out. It was pretty fun but I haven't played it in 5 years - not sure how well it has aged.

EDF 2017 was amazing, glad you're considering it.

Here's stuff I liked. I'm into just about anything outside of RPGs...but these are mostly shooters and racing games.

Super Meat Boy (I will stand by this game as my personal favorite game of this generation)
Geometry Wars 1 & 2
Limbo
Dead Rising
Deathsmiles
Crackdown
Ninety-Nine Nights
Project Gotham Racing 3/4
Raiden IV
Ridge Racer 6
Viva Pinata

I personally found Guilty Gear Overture to be terrible, but YMMV.

Bomberman Zero

There's a discussion over in the Classic Discussions forum. Please continue there (the exclusives to the 360 are noted with a star in the opening posting of the thread).
