Pioneer Laseractive Megadrive PAC-S1 - Will it work on an NA Laseractive?

Just like the question says: Can I use a Japanese PAC-S1 on a North American version of the Pioneer Laseractive? Has anyone tried this?

Outside of region modding my X'Eye, I figured this would be a fairly inexpensive route to get both Megadrive/MegaCD in one go.

Probably compatible, yup. I use an NA PAC-S10 and Japanese PAC-N1 in the same Laseractive.

Yes, it should work without any issues. Most Sega carts (at least until near end of life) were not region locked, just a different size. So the big benefit there is getting MegaCD capability. I've just got an S10, but have been told by the Laseractive gurus over at PCEFX that either region should work in the player.
