I've seen the "Action Replay" in the local game stores but was wandering what was included with it and how it worked. If anyone has any experience with this I would like to hear from ya. I may have a chance to pick up some Japanese imports, so I'm wandering if this thing really works well or not. Also, a few recommendations for some import titles would be great also.

Um, the "Action Replay" is basically a Gameshark. NCSX says it will play imports too, and I don't see why not. Datel makes both the AR & the Freeloader (I've got the Freeloader and it works wonderfully.) and I can just see the AR as a glorified Freeloader with the added bonus of codes.

It's basically a memory card & code discs. You save the codes on the memory card and start your game. Assuming it works like the Gameshark did on the Dreamcast, you would start your game with NO CODES ENABLED and when it says "Insert disc" or whatever, you would put in your import.

I'll point out here that AR doesn't work without the memory card in place (some sort of security device I guess). I made the mistake of only taking the disc with me when visiting QoF and couldn't run any of my Jap games on her machine.

Apart from that, it works great... mainly got it to be able to borrow PAL games off friends here in the UK...

I guess I'll pick one or the other, I was really concerned whether it works well or just works occasionally with certain games.....
