I found these at a yard sale this weekend and they looked like protos to me. I don't know much about protos and just want to see what others think and what they might be worth. The first says "Miner 2049 6/11 Software Toolworks. here is a pic:

The next one says "NEC NBA 2 2-27. Here is a pic:

any info would be appreciated. Thanks

Those look like protos to me!

The first one would be Miner 2049er, apparently released 4 months after that proto: http://www.gamefaqs.com/gameboy/585805-miner-2049er/data So it's likely an incomplete version.

Don't know what the second one is. I don't think NEC made an NBA game for Game Boy. Maybe it's just a generic NEC sticker and someone else made it?

No idea on value, sorry.

Those look like Game Boy protos. Judging from the names I'd guess Miner 2049er and NBA All-Star Challenge 2. Though I'm not sure if NEC made any NBA games for Game Boy, so it could be something else.

First one wouldn't be worth too much since the game isn't very good and released...but I'm sure someone will want the prototypes.

I did just find a gameboy color and the info on startup screen for NBA Cart reads:

1992 NBA
Properties, INC.

1992 LNJ. LTD

then changes screen and reads:
NBA
2
All Star
Challenge.

thanks for the info

Yeah, those are most definitely prototypes. Congrats on the pick up.

Did you happen to ask the seller if they were involved in the industry?

The girl that sold them had no idea what they were or where they got them or even if they worked, I ended up buying 18 GBA games, 5 Gameboy games, 2 Gameboy color games, and the 2 protos, all for $12. Guess I didn't do to bad.
