View Full Version : HELP me with the name of this TurboGraphx platformer

I believe it was Turbo Graphx, i played it 10 years ago, it had a ninja (it was a platformer) that either collected red orbs or shot them, and went through stages and it had bosses, standard platform fare..But it was fun while it lasted. It had red orbs, and was oriental based. I know its not Jackie Chan's Kung Fu, it was definitely a Turbo Graphx game. I cant find anything about it online, google or wherever.

If we're talking TurboGrafx releases, there are really only a handful of games that could fit the description of an oriental-themed, orb-featuring platformer. If you're sure it's not Ninja Spirit, maybe see if any of these jog your memory:
- Tiger Road
- Samurai Ghost
- Keith Courage in Alpha Zones

Just wanted to say that Ninja Spirit is awesome, even if it's not what you were thinking of. Great port.
Sounds like Tiger Road to me.

though it is not a 'platformer' it is oriental based and had red orbs (as well as blue, black and green) they are pushed, pulled, and kicked about the screen… the game I mention is: Chew-Man-Fu

I looked them all up, nopes. It had like a spray of fireballs and orbs that could get more powerful, i do remember someone on a tiger or something, it was so strange. I like these suggestions, its been so long since ive delved into TG16 that i havent even seen lots of the other gems. You should look up the Japanese version, Kato and Ken. Even better.

Same game I was thinking of I love Beball (Chew-Man-Fu) and still play the crap out of it, I've yet to make it through every stage though!

YES!! I LOVE this game. Thank you everyone for your help, i cant believe its so different from what i remember! Im gonna look up every one of these from this topic, i didn't know Turbo Graphx was so diverse!

I was about to suggest Impossamole, whose first stage has an Oriental theme. But alas, the mystery is solved.
