I didn't find a thread on this here... (waits for someone to link me to 3 - d'oh)

I have been reading up on this elsewhere and I wanted to confirm a couple of things because I have come across conflicting info. It appears that the DS and 3DS systems are dual voltage but the actual chargers are not? Looking on the back of my US charger seems to confirm that the charger is single voltage. That solves that. So, I'll be heading to Australia - and it seems like is all I will need to do is purchase an Australian DS/3DS charger (I'll need both). I shouldn't need a stepdown converter and I shouldn't need an Australian plug adapter - just a whole separate charger. I ran across a couple of replies on threads that mentioned needing voltage converters so I'm just double checking.

What about USB chargers? Does anyone have any experience with those? It seems like those can be purchased pretty cheap.

Personally I'd go for the USB adapter...had no problem with mine for SP/DS. Plus if you got that, not only could you use your computer to charge but there's tons of USB to wall power adapters out there and I'm sure you could use that for many other things as well.

But if you do go that route, then yes, just buying a charger in Australia will be fine; I have a US DS and just use a UK charger with it.

I'd go with the local wall adapter myself, I don't trust USB for trickle charging my batteries on a lot of things... could be irrational fear born of ignorance, who knows ;)

That slow... slow... charge....
