What do think are some of the best games this gen or past gen?

What do you consider the best game of this gen? Mine would be just Team fortress 2 how its designed to give the player free content all the time , a close 2nd would be Fallout 3 for the amount of content that is packed into such a game. 3rd is Metal gear solid 4 for just its storyline and graphics ( a little bit of a fanboy I admit)

Mario Galaxy 2

It's just so close to being perfect.

It's technically not last gen since it was released for GBA in Japan, but the Phoenix Wright series as a whole really blew me away. Very, very fun and innovative, one of the best things for the DS.

Fallout 3 (Only game I've clocked 100+ hours into and not gotten sick of)
Heavy Rain - Story totally gripped me, lots of "holy crap" moments
New Super Mario Bros. Wii - KOOPA KIDS ARE BACK, and it's actually challenging, unlike the original DS version
Professor Layton (series) - it's just really well-done, the characters are interesting, and there's no cheesy "kawaii-ness" that was so heavy-handed in the Phoenix wright games (Pearl Fey totally killed the second game for me).
Though Phoenix Wright 1 and 3 were both pretty amazing, too. LOVED them.
