I skipped out on the gamecube last console generation generation due to a general lack of titles that really interested me and largely the same with the Wii. I have a policy of not buying consoles only for a handful of games but I figure with the backlog of gamecube and wii titles should be more then enough to justify the purchase of the console.

I'm looking for suggestions of any games weather popular or not from both consoles. My tastes are pretty diverse so throw out anything you had a good time with from either console just let me know what you liked about it or what stood out about the particular game.

I'm not a huge fan of the wii-mote so ill use the gamecube pad whenever possible so curious if there is any advantage to the classic controller over the gamecube controller.

Wii. What is it good for? Absolutely nothing!

...except for playing Gamecube games. Phantasy Star Online 1 and 2, Resident Evil, Resident Evil Zero, Skies of Arcadia Legends, Wind Waker, and Zelda Collector's Edition are my favorites.

There are a lot of bad games on Wii. When in doubt, stick to games either made by Nintendo themselves or major Japanese developers like Capcom, Konami, and Sega. They tend to know how to make Wii games the best, those companies. There are a few exceptions, but not many.

The Wii has a bunch of Japan-only games, too. Some are worth importing. You chose a good time to get into Wii. Only one game worth looking forward to left before Nintendo releases the Wii U, barring that they actually release Xenoblade, The Last Story, and Pandora's Tower in North America. If not, there's always homebrew...

As for the controllers, there classic has no real advantages over the GC as far I as can think of. I prefer the GC controller for comfort.

As for the controllers, there classic has no real advantages over the GC as far I as can think of. I prefer the GC controller for comfort.

Except that sometimes only the Classic Controller will be the only one of the two supported, with no GCN option. So it's best to have both.

And the Classic Controller is ideal to own if someone wants to play any of the Super Nintendo games off the Wii's Virtual Console (Or has the Homebrew Channel with a SuperNes emulator installed).
